I've been frustrated at how to hook my iPod to my '99 RX300 stereo. I've got the high end Nackimichi and connecting a high fidelity source like an iPod through a FM transmitter or fake cassette really s**ked. I searched all these forums and elsewhere to no avail, and talked to a varieity of car stereo shops.

Finally I found in San Diego. I pulled the radio unit out (easy) and shipped it to him, and for $250 he soldered a cable deep into the internals of the stereo. I now have a 3' cable coming out of the bottom of my dash with a 3.5mm plug on the end. It takes over the cassette deck and POW full high fidelity with my iPod jacked in.

Just thought I'd share.

Jim, if you have any pictures to share, that would be cool. I am trying to hook up my ipod right now as well. I am currently going through the tape deck, but this isnt' the best solution. Additionally, I don't have the high end Nackimichi either so I am not sure what solution is best.

Jim ,do not add the website as you are being veiwed as someon looking for free advertising who joined for the sole purpose of posting it.

mp3 have and never will be considered hi-fidelity. Anyone who actually enjoys listening to music will never own an mp3 player such as myself for the degradation of it. Never mind an automobile is no place for hi fidelity no matter what you do from an acoustic dimension point of view.

Jim,

Many thanks for your effort in finding a way to connect an iPod to the RX. Can you please post or email me the name and contact info of the gentlemen who installed your cable?

Regards,

Mike
