skenn1977
Any one have thoughts on the effort to change the alternator on a GS400? I've changed them before but not sure how easy or hard it is to get at the GS400's? Is this a 1, 2, 4 hour job?
lenore
Sorry nobody is responding, I do not have a GS but generally alternators are not bad to replace. Usually two bolts hold them on. Disconnect the negative lead on the battery to start the process, then remove the drive belt, unhook the plug and wires to the alternator and remove the two bolts that secure it. Installation is the reverse finishing with the battery negative terminal.
