herewego Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I have a lexus gs300 and for some reason the hood doesn't close all the way. The latch that is operated next to the steering wheel is keeping it from staying down. What should i do? Thanks
SKperformance Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 So the hood latch on the dash does not return to its original position? I would say you latch assembly needs lubing. One of the things the dealer does when they service the car. Buy a bottle of pb blaster from napa and spray some on the hood latch at the front of the car and it should let the latch return to locking position to hold the hood and the latch in the car down.
herewego Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 Ya, when i pull the hood latch on the dash, it just stays there. So basically the secondary latch at the front of the car isn't locking the hood down. I'll try to lube it like you said. Thanks
herewego Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 i just tried pb blaster and it didn't work =/ I don't know whats wrong with it.. EDIT: It worked! After i sprayed pb blaster i think i started tugging on some random cable (probably the cable for the latch) and it made a snapping sound. Thanks for the help =)
imtheking Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 having same problem....will give this pb blaster a shot...
