camlex
Hello, I did it. Today I decided to change the PCV valve and grommet, and I tried to take that grommet out. It broke into two pieces. Half of it fell into the valve cover gasket. I know I read previously here that this thing has happened to people before. Please advice me on what to do. Thanks. Toysrme
I always vote if you can just pick it out, or you don't feel like pulling the upper intake off to do some cleaning/maintenance - just leave it. Whatever you do, good luck with it!
camlex
Thanks, I did talk to a mechanic, he says that with the heat and oil the rubber grommet will dissolve by itself. It's nothing to worry about. I have to say that, this is poor engineering design for PCV

camlex
Hello, I spoke to mechanic this morning, what he explain is rear valve cover has two layers (chambers) and between those layers (Chambers) has holes. so the peice i lost it's not going where lifters are. it will stay in upper chamber. Can somebody confirm this. Thanks,
mehullica
There is a baffle under the pcv area. The grommet shouldn't fall into the cam/lifter area.
