s.on.gGS300 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Well I have another thread about my TRAC & Check Engine light coming on in my 1994 GS300 and I was going to run a Diagnosis test on it today via a computer from my step brother work (jiffy lube), but when he finally got here he said it wouldnt work because his computer has a rectangular plug vs. the circular one on the GS's. I am a noob and therefore dont really know what information Im looking for. I ran a search but didn't find anything helpfull. I used to own a MK3 Supra and one day I had a friend help me check and set my timing. One of the steps he did was taking a paper clip and looping 2 pins together in the diagnosis port. My step brother was telling me you can also get codes this way. By putting the ends of a paper clip in different ports and watching how many times the check engine light flashes. Any help please!!! Ive noticed this site usually takes a while before someone even responds with any relative help at all but I'm desperate to get my car running good again and dont have enough money to just take it to the dealership yet and let them have their fun with it and rack up every penny they can get, so PLEASE can I get any usefull help ASAP. TIA. None of the 9 viewers have nothing to add? Cmon PLEASE PEOPLE. You have no clue how F*ing stressed I am right now. Im 18, im doing what I can to make what I can but I have the *BLEEP*iest luck imaginable. I need help PLEASE HELP. ^^ haha that bleep thing is funny though ^^

s.on.gGS300 Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 "here is a list of all the codes for the obd 2 compliant cars a industry standard from 97 and up a lexus standard since 94 on the ES 300 1mz-fe engine" I drive a 94 GS300, obviously doesnt fit into the 97+ category, nor in the 94 ES 300 1mz-fe category. Am I misreading something or will these codes not work for my car. "These are OBD codes for pre 97 cars except 94 and newer ES 300" Again, I own a 94. It says those are the codes for pre 97 EXCEPT 94 and newer ES 300. Is any of that info useful to me or apply to my car? Im sorry if I sound unappreciative, believe me, I AMAZED I got a response in the first day, I just dont understand how any of that applies to my car. It looks like it singles out 94's and ES 300's.
