scrubnick Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I'm experiencing a problem that a few others have had. When you unlock the drivers side door with a key, the alarm goes off. To stop it, you must unlock the door from the passenger side. This means I can only unlock the car from the passenger side. My wireless remote also does not work. I try to program it using the steps on here, but the doors never cycle when they are supposed to. I checked the transmitter by turning the radio to 94.9 and it does make noise when the button is pressed. I'm out to get a socket to take the drivers side outer door lock and cylinder out. Anything to look for? Anything I can replace? Any ideas? I'd love to just be able to disable/remove the stupid factory alarm, I hate alarms with a passion. Thanks!
SKperformance Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 It sounds like the key cylinder is not sending a signal to the alarm that you are turning the key. It is either the tumbler sensor or the wiring.
