pj7 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Hi All, I am new to the forum but hope to be a regular as time goes on. I just purchased a 1998 ES300 and trying to become familiar with certain issues I am finding and also looking for good mod ideas. My radiator has 2 plastic posts on top that are held by a ringed bracket with bushings inside. They appear to allow some play to help with bumps? Does anyone know the reasoning for the designed movement? Also, I have a plastic post that has broken off so the radiator vibrates pretty bad. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? If so, how did you fix it? I am considering super glue to see if that holds the post. When the car is started up and idling neither fan runs. If I turn on the AC then both fans run. I let the engine idle for a while to warm it up and neither fan runs. Is this normal or is there a problem? If it is normal what triggers the fans to run without the AC running? Temperature or ? Thanks.
SKperformance Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 If the engine is not overheating then it is quite normal. 97 and up have a higher internal temp. The rad mounts are ment for play to keep them from cracking and leaching heat to the frame
