SKperformance Posted June 16, 2005 Share Posted June 16, 2005 If you fuel pump dies then your engien runs out of gas ,so it does shut down but not because it is told 2. If an engine senses a problem, it changes its mapping of timing and sensors to what is called open loop or limp home mode. It will turn into a slow unresponsive car if needed depending on the failure. But it only shuts down if somethign completly breaks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
