BluAquarius Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 I purchased a used RX300 key recently with "programming instructions." The instructions are either incomplete or inaccurate... they only work partially, which isn't much help. Does anyone know where -other than a dealer- I can go to find instructions on reprogramming this key? Online instructions have been difficult to locate. Peace.
bradsteimel Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Program it to do what? Why not just take it to a dealer?
mikey00 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 You must have one of the original registered master keys to use this procedure: simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedal 1 time insert existing master key into ignition within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time after 80 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off remove new key and depress and release brake pedal 1 time If you do not have an original registered master key, the ECM (Engine Control Module) must be replaced or flashed to add additional keys.
pushatam Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 The programming procedure for the Transponder Chip for years 98-01 are as follows: Add Duplicate Key: On-Board Program E (1998+ Toyota, Lexus) (IGNITION) 1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time. 2. Insert existing master key into ignition. 3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times. 4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key. 5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition. 6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time. 7. After 80 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off. 8. Remove new key and depress and release brake pedal 1 time. These are the programming procedures for Lexus RX300 (DOORS) A. 1. Open drivers door 2. Insert your key in the ignition, then remove it. 3. Using the inside power lock button, cycle the locks locked/unlocked 5 times, leaving them in the unlocked position. 4. Close and open the driver's door. 5. Again, cycle the locks locked/unlocked 5 times, leaving them in the unlocked position. 6. Insert the key in the ignition and turn it one time to ON position, then OFF. 7. Remove the key from the ignition. 8. The power locks should cycle once to indicate you are in the program mode. 9. Press the lock and unlock buttons together. Then, press any keyremote transmitter button for a minimum of 1 second. The locks should cycle only once. If they cycle twice, you are still in program mode, Close and open the door. you need to try and press the button again. I have discovered all problems are associated with how long you hold both buttons down initially, and how quickly you press either the lock or unlock button. Experiment with slightly different amounts of time...
SKperformance Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I thought before you begin for the wireless lock/unlock program for the key,you have to have the doors closed except drivers all doors locked except the drivers
