Wantomas Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Whats up y'all!?! First time poster, and I just bought an '05 IS. Im trying to figure out how to change the settings on my key remote. I looked in the manual, and it says that I can change timers, alert sounds and other stuff on my key, but that I need to contact my dealer for info (pgs 14-17 LOM). When I called there, no one really knew how to do it, so I thought I'd turn to the real pros. What I am trying to accomplish is: 1) Silencing the Locking function (no beeps when I lock the door) 2) Getting rid of the 2-step unlocking function (unlock all doors with one press) Both of these things can be done, so says the manual, so if anyone knows how or has done it themselves, let me know. Thanks, John
steviej Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 these settings are know as C-BEST settings and the dealership should know how to set these to your preference. Call another dealership. As for the door beep, if the IS is like the ES, there is a volume knob just under the dash by your right knee, but this should be in your manual, too. steviej
bartkat Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I guess you could silence the beeper by disconnecting the little beeper unit located on the inside fender well on the driver's side.
ImranS Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 If it's anything like the ES then there should be a tiny volume type knob somewhere below the steering wheel out of sight. For my ES you just turn that knob to zero and it turns off the 'beep' ;)
