Question About Cold Struts -20c

I find that my ride is really hard/rough when it is really cold outside like minus 20 celcius. What is the reason for this? Does it mean I need new struts?

Conversely with the recent warm weather, the struts are just right. :(

may be just that the rubber in the tires is stiffer at those very cold temps.

This will effect ride smoothness.

Same problem here. Struts were replaced (aftermarket - Monroe "Sensatrac") last fall, they were fine until the very cold weather hit.... at REALLY cold temps this past winter, it felt like there were no springs or shocks in the rear - like the wheels were solidly attached to the body! Now, they seem OK again since the weather has warmed up considerably.

Anyone else notice this??

Air suspension does work very well on my subie in the extreme cold weathers.

Too bad the air is only on the ls400s and out of my affordable range.

Actually air is worse in colder weather

as it has moisture which freezes and causes valve and solenoids to lock up

Actually, the subaru comes with an air dryer for that caution. Anyhow over the 15 years I have never had problems wrt cold weather and air solenoids/suspension.
