"err" Message In Cd Player - 1993 Gs300

In my 1993 GS300, the radio/tape work, but CD player has frozen. Just purchased the vehicle. Currently, when trying to play the cd player it won't play and displays on the screen the word "err". Try to hit the eject button (its the 12 cd cartridge - not Nakimichi) but the thing won't eject, won't load also. Unfortunately, I jumped the gun and purchased another functioning used gs300 cd unit and plugged it in, but got the same exact err message.

I'm thinking maybe there is a separate fuse for the CD player?

Anyone have this problem before?

The radio/tape player still work, but I can't get the CD to load or play. For a while, before it completely froze, it would play and then the "err" message would come on, you could turn the unit off/on, then it would play again before the err message - which would stop it playing all together.

Most likely the radio is dying or you have a loose connection. Here's the Lexus flowchart.
