therriott Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 hello all custom air intake on my 300. Been getting some bad pinging like it is due to bad gas but I am sure that is not it. Is it the oil I am using on my K&N air filter afftecting my 0/2 sensor? Should I even oil it? For some reason I think I should leave it un-oiled. Does pinging over a long period of time do damage to an engine? If so, what kind of? suggestions? therriott
SKperformance Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 o2 sensors are only after the combustion chambers not before it to read air you might be talking about the maf which can get filled with oil if improperly oiled. need more info like the type of intake what it sounds like when how long add alot more detail for a better response
therriott Posted February 4, 2005 Author Posted February 4, 2005 Let me make it even more simple. haha. Should I oil my filter on my air intake? No or Yes? therriott
BMAN1113 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 If you dont oil your filter, dirt is going to get through. Some people swear by the K&N style re-useable filter, but I've always been weary. Yes, it has higher air flow but at what long term cost. I just stick with oem when it comes to air filters.
