Let me make it even more simple. haha. Should I oil my filter on my air intake? No or Yes? therriott

hello all custom air intake on my 300. Been getting some bad pinging like it is due to bad gas but I am sure that is not it. Is it the oil I am using on my K&N air filter afftecting my 0/2 sensor? Should I even oil it? For some reason I think I should leave it un-oiled. Does pinging over a long period of time do damage to an engine? If so, what kind of? suggestions? therriott
