Steering Wheel Movement

Anyone having problems with the automatic steering wheel adjustment when you remove the key in cold weather ?

My 98 GS400 is having problems when I first start the car when it is cold. The steering wheel moves toward the driver, but will not move down to its programmed position. After about a half hour of driving, I can manually lower the wheel.

Any thoughts on a fix (i.e. Lube the motor, start driving like a trucker) ?

I guess a lube may fix the problem. If not I guess a new motor will be expensive.

Not ideal but if you don't mind not having the automatic park you could always get your dealer to turn it off, that way it wheel will always be in the correct position.

Oh, I like that idea, since I have a remote starter that does not re-adjust the wheel anyway.

Can I re-program it, or do I need to pay Lexus another extreme amount of money to do nothing.

Lexus need to do it. Only takes a minute or two, part of the C-BEST settings. Dealers have been known to do it for free in the UK :)
