lexus082
For the backlighting on the climate control unit, does anyone know if the bulbs just screw in or do they have to be soldered in?
jbarhorst2
I know the buttons are twist out bulbs. I believe the display itself is soldered in lighting. That's what it looks like in the service manual. I can't exactly remember. It has been a long time since I took mine out. And, I only had buttons that were burned out. Tom ← correct.... and you better be prepared to desolder the entire LCD also because bending the pins causes stress cracks in the glass and will make the screen go black MUCH sooner. http://lextech.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=52 there's what it looks like inside. another shot: http://lextech.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=
TMaxxTim
Where can you ordered these replacement lights from, or can you get them at say autozone?
jeremyp
Send it to lextech lighting and have them do it. LLS's post above. I wouldn't mess with it or you may end up with the blackened out screen which is a LOT more money.
