Fingernail Polish Remover

has anybody tried clearing up their headlights, specifically in a 95 es300, with fingernail polish remover. I have nasty discoloration on the clear, plastic housing and want to get rid of it. I read in SCC that acetone takes care of it. Anybody know about the dangers or benefits?

I wouldn't try acetone or fingernail polish remover since it can melt the plastic and make it cloudy. There are plastic cleaners designed to remove this discoloration.

Exactly. Don't use acetone as it will cloud clear rigid plastics.

Try Mequiar's Mirror Glaze, plastic polish.

plastic polish is perfect

yellowed plastic is pretty much dead but can atleast look shineyas their is cheaper plastic in 95-96 headlight leans which yellow easily over time.

alright, sounds like i should give that meguiars stuff a try. thanks for the suggestion
