timothy
I'm looking at 92-95 ls 400 or 97-99 es 300s. Which is eaiser and cheaper to repair? I know some Toyota dealers won't work on Lexus.es cars, but parts are the same, but not all. Local bmw dealer has a 92 ls 400, 109000 miles for $6900. Lexus dealer has 99 es with 90000 miles for 11900. These are just two examples of what I'm looking at. I know both will need to be worked on in the future. thnaks, and have a great Christmas! SKperformance
if you buy a 97-01 ES get it from a lexus dealer or make sure it has all the maintance schedules and receipts for it incase of sludge and getting toyota to repair it for free the ES is much cheaper than the LS to maintain
SW03ES
Buy an LS, 93+. The ES of that generation have an oil sludge issue, if the oil changes were not performed perfectly (and its rare to find one with perfect records) then the engine oil could be sludged in a lot of cases neccesitating engine replacement. The LS has no such concern. But bear in mind that the parts for the LS and the maintenance are more expensive. Stay away from the air suspension in the LS.
