Ive seen elsewhere when you see an important post ie: recall , campaign etc. or even something you believe worthwhile for everyone else, after reading if you have nothing to add reply with a TTT {to the top} so the thread stays up on the top of the current posts and doesnt get buried under the many detail or mod posts.

their are many mportant posts but which ones are more important than others is the problem as if all of them where pinned it would lead to a full page of pinned topics and only 2 new threads per page

The thing to do is PM a moderator and ask them to pin a topic for you if you want one pinned.
