HubJunky1 Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Well, against my better judgement, 6 months ago I had my front struts replaced by a mechanic who is friends with my father (Claimed he would do it for cheap and the day i needed it, turns out he charged as much as the dealership wanted!) For the past month my car has been pitching and rolling like crazy, couldnt even drive smoothly on fresh paved road. So I got it into lexus and they changed the strut mounts. They told me that they wore out because the mechanic installed the struts improperly!! So, thanks to bad workmanship, I was out $450 in parts and labor to have new strut mounts put in the front. Moral of the story: Dont cheap out with your lexus :( Ended up costing me twice as much, and a huge pain in the !Removed!!
SKperformance Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 lmao i could have told you that hope someone else learns from your mistake glad your car drives like a lexus again
steviej Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 i would go talk to your father and see if he has any influence on his friend to reimburse you the $450 that he caused. steviej
Lex3486 Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 DEFINITELY don't cheap out on major repairs like transmissions...you'll probably end up selling your car out of expense and frustration.
