Geno Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Hello, Can anyone give me the best prices (links) and place to obtain a Vacuum Switch Valve for a 1999 Lexus RX 300. Thienn on this board gave me some good information about my P0446 (triggers check engine light to remain on) problem and I want to change out this part befor I replace the Charcoal Cannister in hopes that will solve my problem. I was unable to go to the site he referenced as Plano Lexus in my previous problem. Thanks Geno K
dgorrie Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Not sure if I was the one that mentioned the Lexus deal in Plano, but one link that goes there is http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...m?siteid=213808. However, the link I used to get there in the first place was http://newlexusparts.com (no "www" on the front. I frequently find it difficult to find a part by its name, but easier if you have the p/n. Maybe someone here knows the p/n
SKperformance Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 i was sure their was a recall for the charcoal canisters
Thienn Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Geno, the link dgorrie gave is correct! If you can't find the part on the website then email them with your car information (VIN) and describe what you are looking and they will get back to you within hours. They have very good prices with no tax and free shipping. There were a recall on emission control parts for some lexus and Toyota but I did not see RX300 on the list. Try google and search for "EMISSION CONTROL RECALL LEXUS" and see for yourself. From my personnal experiences, replace the VSV first to see if it fix your problem (This is the only part that connected to the Electrical system, i.e. ECU) The canister is nothing but a charcoal filter with 3 one-way valves. Changing the Canister will set you back over $350 and won't fix the problem! I know people that bring the Lexus and Toyota to the dealer for the same problem and they change both the VSV and Canister. I only change the VSV on my car and it have been fine for over 5K miles...
Geno Posted December 15, 2004 Author Posted December 15, 2004 I went to the links provided and sent two emails requesting a Vacuum Switch Valve Price and a PCV valve price. I put in my VIN # and everything this was two days ago. They did not respond. any ideas or suggestions. I really want to get these parts as cheaply and asap. before X-mas. Geno K
Thienn Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 DId you get a receipt/email from them state that they got you request? I have the phone number from the last order at work; I will post it tomorrow so you could call them directly! How about calling the local dealer? They are selling these for around $80 with tax; if you need them right away it might well worth it...

Russ White Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Geno, Hope this helps. They have done a good job for me, but seem to be a bit behind with the emails right now. Give them a call.
