Mechanical Key driver's side door not working

The mechanical key is not turning at all.  I just got this car.  Can I change the key and cylinder or just look for the cut code and get a new key?

I would squirt some powdered graphite into the key hole, then make sure the key goes all the way in.

As it sits right now, try lightly tapping the end of the key with a hammer. If the car starts after that, the graphite will ensure that the problem does not reoccur for a long time.
