johnnyray00
AWJ, I'm trying to remove the serpentine belt on a SC300. I understand that all you need to do is to turn the tensioner in order to relieve pressure on the belt. To get to the nut/bolt for turning, do you pry the front plate off of the tensioner or am I going down the wrong road here? Thanks for your reply....John
JDOwen2
You need a 14mm socket, put on tensioner and turn clockwise to loosen and simultaneouly pull belt off the power steering pump pulley.
JDOwen2
I should have been more specific. The tensioner pulley is located about 5 o'clock below the tensioner. You can sneak a socket/ratchet combination between the radiator shroud and the tensioner pulley. I took off the upper radiator hose to facilitate the process.
