TurboGS300 Posted October 14, 2004 Share Posted October 14, 2004 Hey and Welcome, I use mobil premium with a fuel injector cleaner every other tank or so. The owners manual recomends 91 or higher, I believe. You don't really need to use a fuel injector cleaner with mobil gas as it has techron. Anything higher than 93 in our cars is wasting money and resources. Higher octane fuels are for turbocharged and supercharged, or higher compression cars. Octane cools the combustion chamber therefore allowing more boost and preventing detonation. B) Too high an octane will actually hurt performance.
