alicias
i was using a faulty power cable for a palm pilot. now none of the climate controls work - the buttons light up, the lcd lights up without the graphics, etc. -- but the on/off bulb doesn't shine ... i'm thinking i shorted out something. i checked the fuses and they seem to be ok. every else works so i'm guessing that its the square 'switch' or whatever its called that's located in the fuse box and marked heater. at least i hope that's it. 1- does it sound like a switch? 2- is that what its called - feel like a nitwit not knowing? 3- can i get the one i have tested before i buy a new one? also, my lcd was on its way out anyway --- is changing the whole panel a big deal because i'm getting the impression that you can't just replace the lcd. thanks for your help. this is a great forum and i love my car. jbarhorst2
You just blew the fuse for the cigarette lighter. When you replace that, you'll be back in business. Let me know if you need help to know which fuse to change. Tom
alicias
that's the first place i looked and the cigarette lighter is okay. i'm just hoping i didn't fry the whole assembly some other way ... like it wasn't the faulty plug at all. the climate control was dying and the lcd was the first step. thanks for responding.
