NYANGELX Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 HERES MY PROBLEM. I HAVE A LEXUS ES300 , 1992. I WAS VISITING A FRIEND AND WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN AT ALL. IT WAS JUST STUCK IN THE DOOR. THE KEY GOES INTO THE LOCK BUT WILL NOT TURN TO OPEN THE DOOR. I TRIED TO USE THE PASSENGER LOCK BUT SOMEHOW THE ALARM WENT OFF. WELL....I SUCCESSFULLY OPENED THE DOORS THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR... BUT THEN THE CAR WON'T START AND THE KEY DOESN'T TURN IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR!! SO NOW MY CAR IS STUCK AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE AND I AM UNABLE TO MOVE IT. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IS THERE A WAY TO OVERRIDE THE SECURITY? BY THE WAY THE BUTTON ON THE KEY DOES NOT WORK AND SINCE I HAD THE CAR IT NEVER WORKED, I EVEN CHANGED THE BATTERY, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT HAD A BUILT IN ALARM SYSTEM. SKperformance Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 you obvioulsy tried the key both ways but the alram control is only on the drivers door i think try holding the key in unlock on the passanger door there must be somehting stuck in the drivers doorkey hole clean it with wd 40 until the alarm is deactivated the car will not start try also disconnecting the battery also Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I tried wd40 but the lock will not budge with the key in there, not even with the key upside down. its as if some crazy glued it but i doubt that because i am parked by a friends house and i was there only an hour when i had this problem. after 24 hours the car will not start . the alarm can't be deactivated because the door lock is stuck. i noticed that there is a switch in the car to activate the button on the key, i'll try to get a new battery again and turn the switch on. i'm wondering should i call a locksmith or do i have to go to the dealer ?? by the way thanks for the advice so far, its reallly appreciated. NYANGELX Posted May 23, 2003 Author Share Posted May 23, 2003 does the key goes in alll the way?? also did you try deactiviating it from the passenger door? if you turn the key in the passanger door lock and hold it does it unlock/lock all the doors is the alarm light on the dash bezel flashing sorry for all the questions just trying to get a big picture well the key goes in a little more than 3/4 of the way. i am not sure if that is normal, i don't think it ever went all the way in. i tried the passenger door and it unlocked all the doors but doesn't deactivate the alarm. the engine still doesn't start. its a 1992 lexus, i don't see any alarm light flashing. i called the dealer , there saying the only way to deactivate is to use the button on the key (which doesn't work) or to unlock through the drivers side. i guess i'll have to have it towed to a dealer. thanks for the help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SKperformance Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 have you tried to remove anything in the key hole? on the left side on the trunk( behind the paneling is the master ecu for the alarm there is a hole for the key put it in there see what it does while pressing the button on it ok you are saying around the cluster on the bezel there is no little red light that illuminates when the alarm is on or it doesn't work? the 4 ways to deactivate the systme are unlock left or right door unlock with wireless button put key in ignition to acc or on position or open a door before the one minute wait after all doors and hood + trunk are closed the biggest problem is you have mulitple problems first car doesn't start key won't go in button never worked all point to the theft system have you checked the fuses for the alarm and locks do the power door locks work inside he vehicle ok tune ther radio to 94.9 press the button on the key does it make noise on the radio? yes a incar problem no the transmitter is off try to be as descriptive as possible when replying thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
