mspin24 Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 I have a 1996 ES 300 with 78,000 miles. It has been well maintained and just recently I have been experiencing a vibration in the steering wheel when I brake. I did get new tires just recently and thats when I noticed it vibrating. There are no vibrations on the steering wheel when I'm just driving. Does anyone think that I might need to have the rotors resurfaced or it might be time for new ones? Can you help?
amf1932 Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Have the rotors resurfaced. They'll tell you before they resurface it if you have enough metal to be able to do it, otherwise you might have to buy new rotors. You might also need new brake pads. ;)
mspin24 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 Thanks Alan. Thats what I thought, It's nice to get someone else's opinion.
SKperformance Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 agreed new rotors are in your near future
mburnickas Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 yup, rotors are trash. Either your caliper is causing the problem of just heat from normal usage.
