jonnyw Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Hi all! I have a black 2001 LS 430 equipped with the park assist. Recently, the paint on one of the park assist sensors buttons on the front bumper flaked off exposing the metalic surface below it. The dealer advised me that touch-up paint is not recommended on the sensors because it would interfere with its operation. But they had no advise on how to properly touch it up. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks. On my previous car ('03 Jaguar S-Type), one of the rear parking sensors had to be replaced. The dealer had to have the body shop spray paint the sensor to match the bumper. I can't see how paint would interfere with the sensor's operation. All the sensors have to be painted to match the color of the car on which they are installed. If you can't get a solution from your dealer, call Lexus Customer Relations or check with a body shop that repairs luxury cars. Mike
SKperformance Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 you need to apply a thin film too much will affect the sensors perception if it flaked off for no reason have them give you a free replacment under warr or check the prcie of a new sensor
