kglam Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 Hey Everyone, My 1994 GS300 Check Engine light is on and I took it in for diagnostics. The mechanic told me that the O2 Bank 1 Sensor 2 is bad. I have a couple of questions. 1. How many O2 sensors are on the car? I see one on the front exhaust manifold and apparently there is one after the catalyst. Is there also one directly in front of the catalyst as well? 2. Which sensor is Bank 1 Senosr 2? Thanks for your help!!!
SKperformance Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 an educated guess would be on the exhaust manifolas it says bank one you donl;t have 2 banks as you have an inline 6 not a v6 which has 2 banks there may be another sensor you can;t see on the exhaust manifold towards the firewall as the fron one closer to the rad should be sensor 1
GuyTelefunken Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 Bank 1 sensor 2 is after the cat. You only have 2. I recommend Oxygensensors.com They have excellent prices and service. If you're not sure if your car is California emissions certified, just look at how many wires are on the sensor. One wire is standard 49 states emissions, four wires is California emissions. They ask you this on the site.
kglam Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 Thanks for your help. I'll give it a try and see how things turn out.
