gco Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 Hello all, my trunk light on my 99 gs 400 only comes on when I us the key to physically open it. When I use the remote on the key or from inside the car it does not work. I appreciate any suggestions.
SKperformance Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 grease the tunk latch with wd40 a good bit it may be hard and the solenoid is not pulling it far enough to activate the light on the latch while you turning the key does
gco Posted August 3, 2004 Author Posted August 3, 2004 I took apart the trunk latch assembly cover to discover the metal connector that activates the light when the trunk is opened had some sort of dirt film on it. I cleaned the metal off and lubed the latch assembly, had no problem since the lights in the trunk comes on whe n the trunk is opened with the remote. Thanks for the help.
