AlexMN
Hi, I am looking to buy a 98-2003 GS or LS 400/430. I love the quiet ride of the LS but I want the performance and looks of the GS. My questions are. 1. Is the GS as quiet inside as the LS? (I have driven LS400 &430) 2. How's the rear drive in snowy conditions? (I live in Minnesota) 3. Is there a big performance advantage to GS430 over the GS 400? Thanks in advance for all the input.
AlexMN
Nobody in this forum driven both LS and GS to be able to give a comparison? Also anybody with a GS from the snowy part of the country?
SW03ES
1. Is the GS as quiet inside as the LS? (I have driven LS400 &430) No. The GS is designed to offer more road feel and has higher levels of road and engine noise. Also the LS is more aerodynamic than the GS, and the GS can have some wind rush at speed. The GS also rides a little stiffer and has less suspension travel. 2. How's the rear drive in snowy conditions? (I live in Minnesota) Not great, but that would be the same on the LS and GS. Snow tires are a must. 3. Is there a big performance advantage to GS430 over the GS 400? Hardly any, the difference is mainly for fuel economy ;) Both are great cars, but different. Actually in the acceleration department they're not that different. All LS after 98 are VERY quick.
AlexMN
Thanks, I appreciate the info. I will go test drive a GS and LS this weekend and probably get the one that feels the best combination of sportiness and comfort. I am also considering the RX 330 (wife likes that ). SW03ES
The RX is a nice vehicle but if you're looking at that I suggest you check out the Infiniti FX35.
