laxdude3622
I just recently got a 1992 lexus sc400 with 114k miles on it. I was out driving it today with my mom getting the emissions checked out and getting the new tags for it and it started up and drove fine. When i got home and turned the car off, and came back outside to turn it on again, it wouldn't start. And I think i might have heard some kinda of banging noise or pinging, when i first tried to start it. Please any advice or help is appreciated. sc300rye1
If your lights inside on your instrument display go dim or turn off when you try to turn it over, the battery is dead and you will need a new one. What else ahppens when you turn the key to start it?
AWJ
If it doesn't turn and the battery has juice, the starter solenoid is the problem. Check our search feature. Good luck.
dcolinc
Has the timing belt been changed? does it sound funny when you turn it over? My timing belt went in a simular fashion as what you discribe..
bean_8044
If the timing belt went, then that would explain the noise and the lack of starting. If it was the timing belt then i think it would be a bit louder noise though. Of course if it did go then....well, lets not talk about that.
