Cygnus Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 Any chance in hell of replacing the steering wheel on my '91 LS400 with a 2000 LS400 steering wheel? My steering wheel is worn, and I really like the wood/leather wheels. Sean
VMF Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 nope, they are not. dont bother trying you just gonna waste your $$
SKperformance Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 the wheels fit but all oem wood wheels are after 97 which use a totally different airbag system so you would need a new airbag as well as wheel and the complete srs system which still needs to be totally wired together with the cars ecu to work as it is a data crash recorder for speed and impact in an accident so basically it will work but not function
VMF Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 i tried this, i asked the dealer and i asked couple of shops they all told me that gen III steering wheel WILL NOT fit on the earlier models. and that its not worth the money so i just got a cover with a wooden look:)
SKperformance Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 try this http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...howtopic=10237&
