  1. Ok as soon as i read your post i went out and filled my tank with super... nope, not the gas. it seems to shake really bad in low gear when slightly accelerating so it wont shift. what the *BLEEP* is wrong?!
  2. Just wondering who all out there in LOC owns or leases thier Lexus.
  3. Ok, so my father and I replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and valve cover gaskets. Still, the car shakes on acceleration and has a little rough idling. I noticed that the exhaust puts out as well. however, right after we changed the fuel filter i took it for a ride and it ran perfect, i was so excited. But i started it up a second time and it went back to shaking and the way it was. Please help me, I am stumped! I dont know what else to do or change.
  4. I was wondering where the fuel filter is located in my 1993 es300. I am trying to figure out where it is so I can change it. Thanks!
  5. yes, and i even tightened my rear vavle cover and checked every spark plug and wire and it is all fine. i have no idea what is causing this.
  6. That would be really nice of you! But yes, the cap, which I changed, has no numbers on it; however, the old cap did. Thanks again for volunteering to help. :)
  7. I replaced my distributor cap and i lost track of which spark plug wires go where. Does anyone have a diagram? (1993 ES300)
  8. I HAVE THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM! it must be the remote start. how can it do this?
  9. not that i know of, but when i was trying to remove the battery cables from the battery a second ago, the whole thing twisted and sparked.. my horn and *BLEEP* started going off. could it be the battery doing all of this?! is it possible?
  10. So i was driving back from school and suddenly, out of the blue, it was working perfect.... then it starts puttering and rough idling. When it accelerates the whole car vibrates and shakes like crazy. It makes an old car noise and put-puts and ticks... what the hell is wrong with this thing? im stumped. Please someone help this nightmare vehicle! btw its a 1993 es300
  11. wow that is really unsecure. so you can choose any remote or does it have to be the specific remote for your car to broadcast over the cellphone?
  12. where did you get your black housing headlights from? I'm looking for a pair for my '93
  13. I have a 93 es300 and replaced the front and rear valve cover gaskets myself. I wouldnt trust that mechanic as far as I could throw him. I am not a certified mechanic and even I know there is a rear valve cover gasket by just looking at it. Also, it is very laber intensive, it can take a few hours to take apart and a few hours putting back together because you have to take everything that is over the rear valve cover gasket off which includes the throttle body and wires etc.. It is very important to change the rear valve cover gasket if it hasnt been changed before because it is most likely dried up and leaking already. I would suggest changing out the gaskets first then drive it around for a while to see if it still leaks. After the change you should hose down the engine with degreaser as well so you can see if it leaks anywhere else. If you have a certified lexus mechanic change all of this for you, you can expect a hefty bill. Do some research and do it yourself if you can.. but it is pretty hard if you havent had some experience working on cars. Go back to that mechanic and tell him he is full of *BLEEP* and point at the rear valve cover and show him the seam around where the valve cover gasket is to show him how stupid he is.. ;)
  14. I dont think the knocking has anything to do with the cv boots or valve cover gasket. i recently changed my valve cover gaskets in my 93 es300. check the oil level, that could be a factor with the noise. what year and amount of milage do you have on your es?
  15. VERY creative! I was going to do the same thing sort of but take out the stock hose from the air box to the throttle and use an aluminum straight tube for better flow, i already have a drop-in k&n filter...
  16. you might be able to put it back together by using apoxy glue.
  17. so i went to autozone today and they dont carry the alarm fob for the 93 es300. bah!!
  18. wow, ok that really helps. i will call autozone tomarrow first thing. thanks bud! :D
  19. there are no bulbs for the needle. you need to go to lextech.org and purchase a new needle for $200. ;)
  20. Where can i purchase a replacement remote key fob for my 1993 es300? The dealer wanted to charge me $300.00!! Thanks for your help guys.
  21. Honestly i dont think it is worth fixing if its that much. Sell it and by a 92+ es300 :D . Sorry that you have so many problems. Another option could be fixing it all yourself, but just changing the front+rear valve cover gaskets and spark plugs in my car along with cleaning the throttle body took me 6 hours to take apart and 2 hours to reassemble!! bah! But once everything is fixed you will love your baby.. btw, if you decide to fix it yourself, get bosch platinum +4 spark plugs so you wont have to change them in a while.. trust me, its worth it; although, im not sure what the setup is like on the older es models.
  22. how do i find the fccid for my car? im trying to purchase an alarm fob and need to know the fccid number.. thanks for your help.
