    Well I had the same problem with my IS except that was the previous gen to yours. I called Lexus and they said its probably off its runner or something and they would need to recenter it. I turned my car off for 20 minutes and went back out to try it. It closed straight away. So you might want to give that a try.

    Dont they look the same? I think they changed the body and rear lights in 1997? I cant remember the production numbers exactly but they were definitely low in 1999. From what I remember they made less that 1k in 1999 but that might only be the SC400. I would assume it would be slower and you would get better mpg. I probably would. If youre getting a good deal on it why not.

    your right. sorry im new to the boards thanks Hey, I'm also new :) What year is your SC300? I just didn't know if you realized it was an old thread, I've done the same thing before except I was waiting for a reply.

    If you didnt want to go through the dealer my advice would be to go to someone that just works on Toyotas and Lexus. I googled 'lexus repair dallas' and these were the results . Just go through the results, call around, search the companies name then review into google and see if anything bad comes up.

    Its a common problem. I had the same problem with my IS when I lived in Britain. There was actually a place that could fix it and a lot of people on the forum had gone but it was 4 or 5 hours from me.
