  1. Although not yet in possession of the proper acetate, I could not resist but pull that outer bezer to peek below there... Well the good news is I have been able to take it off without damaging any of the 4 clips. Actually, you can check some pictures I post here of the bezer's back and I think the clips are different from the US model, maybe much easier to pull off. I will report again after I find and apply the ideal blue acetate or if pauljcl travels to Switzerland I'd be grateful if he carries a sample with him ;-)) Best to all.
  2. Thanks. Absent new pictures, I'll try anyway as you said but believe me, a perfectionist like myself would suffer from things he knows but can't see.. ;-) Yes, I have the same problem (of perfectionism...)! But the bezel looks fine and fits OK even without all the clips. To try and describe: There are four rectangular-shaped holes affixed to the dash ('portrait' orientation). Two are behind the bottom right and bottom left of the 'bezel', and two are more centered, to the right top and left top of the main (large) dial. There are four extrusions on the bezel that fit into those rectangular holes. The extrusions are +/- pyramid-shaped, but thinner and oblong rather than equal sides. Wrapped aarounf the extrusion, on the vertical planes, is a 'v'-shaped ' metal clip. The clip 'locks' into the holes when the bezel is pushed in. When I pulled the bezel out with a force that Superman would envy, I accomplished the following: 'lost' two metal clips that rattled down into the dashboard somewhere (still not retrieved), broke the bottom right extrusion with its metal clip, that remained in the hole. When I tried to remove, pushed it in further by mistake, and lost the extrusion and the clip somewhere in the dashboard (still unretrieved). -- Allof this to say that I do not know what advice to give to remove the bezel leaving it in a better shape than mine was. These da*n clips hold on really well, and brute force seemed the only way to pull them out; but maybe the Lexus procedures would involve some removal of adjacent material first (don't know how, nor how would help). The bezel circumference fits really well and snugly into the dashboard, and if need be, some additional material such as velcro or sticky foam can be aqdded, so the appearance will be perfect even if you screw up the removal.... One of the advantages of a damaged bezel is that it can be removed and re-installed very easily, thus allowing 'testing' of colours without added damage, loss of time, or inhibition. On an added note: to my taste, during daylight hours, I found that the original Lexus lighting looks best, and that is what I have decided to live with, except if I drive a long and dark night trip, in which case I would probably add the green acetate I have to reduce eye fatigue. This will be easy to do. The size of the acetate sheet you need to cover all instruments in my RX350 is a touch less than 14" by 8", and you can 'tuck' the excess around the transparent panel window. Good luck! Wow!! I hadn't seen your reply when I first answered rxRey and your description pretty much replaces a picture.. lol Thank you. I'll get some sleep now and might try the brute force way on that bezel, later on.. I don't think Toyota has any softer way of extracting it and probably counts on the rarity of such an operation. Probably cheaper for them to fully replace the part if needed. Thank you for all info. Cheers from Switzerland. I hadn't looked up your profile, didn't realize you were in GVA. I studied there, and have been back/go back often for work and to see friends. Tout de bon! Let me know when around next time and hopefully, I'll show you my blue gauges... ;-))

  4. Thanks. Absent new pictures, I'll try anyway as you said but believe me, a perfectionist like myself would suffer from things he knows but can't see.. ;-) Agosin, It really was very easy to take off the bezel when I did it. I was admittedly a little nervous but when I saw the pictures posted earlier in this post and saw the back of the bezel that cduluk took...I knew it would be easy. I think it was page four? Remember that the first time that I did the acetate method of making the blue gauges I didn't even know about taking off the bezel. Oh, and the acetate that you find will be fine. I don;t know if they have a light blue acetate, the one that I got was pretty much blue and the dash lights are so bright that I have so problem seeing any of the gauge info and it is actually much more soothing now and very, very nice looking. Good luck. The two clips that hold the bezel in are both at the top, the rst just fits snuggly in the dash. Thank you. Yes, it was on page four one could see the back of the bezel but despite a lengthy scrutinize, I couldn't figure out exactly where those clips were supposed to fit. Anyway, I guess it makes me feel more comfortable now that I know there are only two of them and located on the top. Thank you for that additional info and I'll report on my tentative very soon.. By the way, my rx 400h is from june 2006, bears 44'000 km and runs like a beast... So far, I was also impressed by the snow driving performance of this car. Best from Switzerland!

  6. Well, first of all, thank you all for suggesting this mod and so clearly explain how to proceed. I intend to try it no later than next week, although not before having found the proper light blue acetate. I understand the real challenge left if one chooses the simpler path of doing, is getting the outer bezel unclipped, without having those plastic clips broken. I know they might not be all needed but I hate to think one or a few of them would be missing.. (perfectionist dilemma..) To that end, would any of you post a pic of the back of that broken bezel so that those willing to try the hold and pull action, understand better where the resistance stands ? Thank you very much in advance and I will report results asap. Best! :)
  7. Hi Jeff, After reading your post I tried to purchase online on the "Wipers123.com" site, the MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE's wiper blades from Trico. Alltogether -driver side, -passenger side,-rear blades came up for a total cost of $42.17, shipping cost NOT included. But since I live in Switzerland and "Wipers123.com" does not ship to my country, I was wondering if you or any other Lexus owners club estimated member would kindly do the transaction for me and tell me what amount I should be transferring him, all costs included ? I can pay via PayPal or Google or Bank Transfer if best suited. Thank you in advance to anyone who could help me on this. Cheers. 1 Trico NeoForm(16-260) 17,38 USD 1 Trico NeoForm(16-220) 15,88 USD 1 Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blade(14-A) 8,88 USD
  8. I ride these tires: Nokian 275/40 R20 106 Y XL to my entire satisfaction since June and just switched to the regular 235 snow tires, I got as an all in option from toyota on car purchase.
  9. Hi, you need to keep the pressure on until you hear the bip and the tailgate opens. It can take a few seconds.
  10. Mehran, I'll email you the english .pdf version if you like. Let me know a valid email address. Cheers.
  11. Hello Great Dane, Would this Black Left Hand RX400h suit you ? Swiss docs - 40'000 km - 06.2006 - bluetooth and GPS Europe 2009 updated, both unlocked to use while driving if desired - front and rear parking sensors - available oem wheels with winter tires mounted, as well as the oem single exhaust pipe. This is a well tuned jewel located in Geneva...Interior is light grey leather though... Have a look at the pics... and if really interested email me: agosin at yahoo.com And since I know you will ask why I would let it go, the answer is: I barely use the car once or twice a week now and this beast deserves to go around. Cheers! Agosin
  12. Good day All, Please, excuse my english writing, I'm trying hard. I am trying to figure out how to eliminate or at least diminish the sun light reflections from my dashboard to my windscreen. It really hampers driving when the sun shines in front and I almost smashed my inlaws the other day... (they think I did it on purpose..) any realy solutions available please ?? tia
  13. Than I will assume ordering a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X 245/60/18's will fit fine??? Or am I assuming wrong? Thanks Hi, I used 255's for months then switched to 275's which I have been wearing for almost two months now. Just perfect.
  14. Perfectly doable and I have done it. Ty On the RX hybrid? really. Pictures? Yes, you seem surprised? OEM wheels from the rx 400h can be mounted on the rx 450h, we only did it after the Lexus dealer confirmed this was inocuous.
  15. Here is the answer: YES! It is possible and I have done it.
  16. Has anyone mounted RX 400H OEM 18' wheels on the RX 450H please ?
  17. Hello All! Can I mount RX 400H OEM 18' wheels on the RX 450H please ? The reason I'm asking is because I may sell my 18' OEM spare wheels to a new RX 450H owner who wants to use them with winter tires on snow. He is not sure and me neither, whether that is ok...
  18. thks, even my wife did not notice any difference in the driving so I'm okay... ;-)) those are 20s or 22s? I have 20s on my car, love the better handling and better traction. what tires do u have on there? what have you noticed as far as a decrease in gas mileage? Hi NeoN They are 20s not 22s as initially erroneously thought and the tires are Nokian 275/40 R20 106 Y XL, much better traction and braking power but you got to pay attention when accelerating if road is rough the car will try to move on least resistance path and you need to hold wheel tight, don't you? As far as gas mileage, I am not sure especially because I also changed the exhaust pipe as you can see on the picture and that double exhaustion might affect consumption as well.. But overall, imho, yes it probably makes a 15 %-20% difference on highways and 10-15% in town. Best! If anyone knows of a 4 OEM wheels buyer in Europe, please let me know...
  19. thks, even my wife did not notice any difference in the driving so I'm okay... ;-))
  20. It is unlikely that a dealership would do this for you, but certainly, if you wanted to retain the original design's braking ability, that's what you would do. I have no doubt that acceleration will suffer with the hevier wheels and there's not much you can do about that. I would consider going to larger wheels ONLY if the combined weight of the new tires and wheels was equal to or less than the OEM weight. Even then, if we're talking about a Lexus, I'd still be a bit wary, due to the fact that the smooth ride would suffer because of the lower profile/stiffer sidewall tires. Well, first of all, thank you. I think weight must be pretty comparable since those wheels are aluminium wearing 20' tires while the heavier iron OEM I used were wearing 18'... Also, I was fearing loss of acceleration but I can assure you, there was no change there. Yes,the ride is a bit rougher but not much. Hope this helps! rgds.
  21. I'm awfully sorry, I just went to my garage, to check the tires size and you were right, they are 20s not 22s. I think the quid pro quo came from the fact the dealer told me I could mount up to 22s on those wheels (but they would not fit on the rx). Congratulations on your eagle eye though. Sorry again.
