  1. Test drive the car for more then hour. Ether you like it or not - make it simple. It depends on how will you use it. ES isn't for street racing. I may say it's well balanced commute car for it's price.
  2. try to go from 880 to 101 South to carpool lane from 4 PM to 7 PM then I'll accept that this isn't issue - again for you. Again, if you don't have to enter freeway and change lane then there is NO ISSUE. All depend on where and how you drive. No, I don't have extra $$$ to drop my es330 for another es350 or else. I'm down shifting to 3 or 2 when it's needed and it works for me - yes engine runs about 5000 rpm that time, but better then be hit from rear - don't you think so? just my 2c
  3. one way or another you'll need to replace O2 sensor - IMHO you got this code as result of O2 sensor got "lazy" and ECU can't get reading as fast as it needs. using premium will just delay O2 sensor replacement. And check with trusted mechanic about this. As Lexus gives recommendations of using Prem gas for almost everything ...
  4. update - I went to Lexus service and they replaced my A/T they told that Lexus don't recommend to reseal A/T by service, so in a week I got my car back. They also updated f/w in ECU - it works better now, but looks like I lost 1 MPG as result so good to have Lexus warranty
  5. today I got as loaner ES 350 2007 and it's much better then my ES 330 :cries: no hectic shifting gears at 20 mph and no issue to accelerate from 20 to 60 mph any one got "Transmission hesitation problems" fixed for ES 330?
  6. no, no dripping. otherwise I'd take it to Lexus right a way. At beginning I though it's just dirt, so I clean it and check the next day and it was looking good, so I just forgot for a time about it ... I'm not pro mechanic so I didn't know how it has to be. thanks.
  7. I cleaned as I can and for 2 days it was kinda dry, however I checked it today again and it's wet :cries: I'll go tomorrow to Lexus service and will show them those pics and ask to check for it for almost 2 years it was Ok .... can it start leaking after 2-3 years?
  8. Hello all, I'll have service for my ES330 this Thursday. My main complain is about hectic transmission at lower speed. What else I should ask Lexus tech to address before my 50k/4 years warranty runs out? Any TSIB list for ES330? Lexus tech will not tell me unless I point directly :chairshot: Thanks.
  9. It does look like someone worked on this car. It appears to have some major work done at the front. The yellow marking is clearly visible. Normally new cars don't have these markings, unless it has some major worked done. a year ago I complained about transmission lag and Lexus servicehad my car for 2 days and I don't know if they did anything to tranny, where service applied newer f/w to ECU. But, it didn't help much with lag. I think this yellow mark is factory mark - isn't it?
  10. thanks for the reply I took pictures before oil change I wipe out all I can and will check again in several days it doesn't look like it comes from tranny plug yes, I'll keep posted
  11. Hello all, Some how it doesn't look good to me. I do service myself and saw it about 6 months ago and now, when I changed oil I see it too. Is something leaking? Should I show it to Lexus service, my car under warranty (ES 2004) What do you think? Thanks.
  12. that would be interesting I didn't complain to anyone, but Lexus service. They didn't fix the issue.
  13. How much it cost you moving from 330 to 350? $1k - $5k? more?
  14. Wow :chairshot: I was under impression that Lexus fixed that issue in ES350 just today I changed lane and pressed gas pedal to the floor to accelerate and instead moving faster I got engine rev and NOTHING and then in .5 sec my car starts accelerate good thing is that I had good distance otherwise I would be hit in rear in no time that was at about 40-50 mph I have es330 I already gave up asking my dealer for that matter and trying just ride "slowly" and don't jump in between cars as I know I can't and watching for good distance before changing lane downshifting from "D" to "4" doesn't help much ether
  15. ECU or just parameters in software in the ECU? or new Canadian firmware has to be just loaded in the ECU? if that load can be done via OBD2 then current (old) fw can be stored before loading Canadian fw - kinda the same way as ppl do fm upgrades for motherboards, dvd burners, video cards, etc. - IMO
  16. The question would be then - How we can do those modifications? Can I do it myself? or at Lexus? or else where? in California a car has to be LEV, where ULEV is extra step - IMHO But I don't want take a hit / risk when I want to merge to higher going lane as that expense - do you?
  17. by Lexus definitions that isn't a problem it works as designed no problem -> nothing to fix next time so many ppl will not go the same route ...
  18. hello, Any instructions / links about replacing air filter are very welcome
  19. I run check after 1 hour drive and level was right at lower hot mark. I checked 5 times after 3 min after stop. But, the cold level higher then higher cold mark anyway. So, I think I'll not add any more ATF for a while. I'll recheck in a week again. thanks for all your answers.
  20. yeahhhhhhhhhhhh yes, no point of doing that replacement for $3k-$5k I was under impression it is just simple adding controls and wire it to audio - no need for whole wheel replacement - too bad. thanks for the info.
  21. Hello, I'd like to have audio steering wheel controls as it's in ES 330 05 model. I have ES 330 04 that doesn't have it :cries: Are any OEM kits can be used to DIY to add that audio keys? Any one already did that? Thanks.
  22. thank you for answers. yes, I lifted from of the car to get under and drain ATF and waited for above 1 hour until drippings stoped. After driving HOT marks level was OK. But in "cold" level is above cold marks. I'll re check level again tonight after my commute.
