  1. You know what Killer...fix that car and show everyone that a big dent and a broken light doesn't mean you junk a car!!! If you love your Lexus then fix her up and work out a deal with the people who you need to fix the things you can't!!! EVERYTHING is fixable...you may have to pay for it....but hey your only 16 years old...work the labor off at the body shop!!! True car lovers will help each other out...not talk sh*t about how you could afford a Lexus or even how you should drive your Lexus....but offer you help and connectections to help put your baby back together again!!!
  2. ok so this weekend will be the tranny mount replacement...then i got to check my motor mounts to see if they need replacement too...i've got 235,000 on my 93 ls400.. looks like a pain in the as* to do the motor mounts!
  3. hey killer, def. got hit hard a good bodyman could fix the rear quarter for you...do you have a tecnical high school near you ?? the bodyshop could do the work for free and you just pay for the parts!!!...as for the rear bumper you can buy a body kit for it and get front & rear bumpers and side skirts body-kits.com got them for as cheap as $500.00...you got to paint it anyway...might as well do it right from here! Even if you have to drive it primered for a while til you save up $$$...
  4. since i have a 93 ls400... do you think its possible to hook up both the heated and cooledd seats and have it working in my 93...? or is that something that would be a wasted item and i should stick to the LS430 seats???
  5. i see the ls430 seats on ebay right now...what is the difference between the 430 and the 460 seats?? also what year are yours? im ready to do this...I HATE MY SEATS!!!
  6. hi i bought a 1993 ls400 and it was doing the same thing as yours...spuddering and wouldnt run very good at all...i bought my car for 250.00 because of this...the guy had all types of mechanics look at the tranny, compression,fuel etc...even a lexus mechanic!! all i did was adjusted the TPS and it ran perfect...such a simple thing... but that caused the car not to idle and it to run like sh*t!!! Give this a shot because it might just be what is wrong...you have two round cylinders off of your intake the one closest is your TPS and the other is your trac control...simply loosen the two phillips screws while it is running and turn it clockwise to adjust the idle you will hear the idle rev. up..tighten the scews and give it a test drive...this sounds exactly like what happened to mine!   8. MY CAR STILL HAS A SLIGHT HESITATION BUT THE PICKUP HAS BEEN FELT...ALOT MORE PULL AND QUICKNESS, AND ROUGH IDLING HAS GONE AWAY!!! I HAVE A INJEN COLD AIR INTAKE AND THOUGHT MAYBE THAT WAS THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE MAF SENSORS THE AMOUNT OF AIR INTO THE ENGINE...RIGHT?? MATBE IT WAS MISREADING IT???? Hmmm IDK WHY??? ANY REAL ANSWERS TO THIS ANYONE??
  9. They didnt just bolt in, I had to do some work, but it wasnt anything too crazy. Might be easier with a 98, but I dont know how much more comfortable the 01 seats are going to be. 95+ seats were always very comfortable, its the 90-94 that were horrible. hey OCH, did you have to make new mounting brackets for the seats ?? i have a 93 ls and i hate the seats that are in it!! any advice on the fabricating will be of great help thanks...by the way your interior looks really nice!!! thanks for the inspiration!!
  10. ok...so i unplugged my MAF too today and it runs fine....no CEL or rough idle why is this?? i thought i needed it for proper function...does this mean anything????
  11. hey i don't know how crazy you want to get with your SC...but from your previous post about your interior...then maybe you want to go crazy with it....anyway as for your shocks...you can get airbags for it so it slams your car to the ground!!!!...if that is the look you want...usually it is around $4000.00-$6000.00 for the complete set up...BUT, you can get the whole set up for $2050.00...they are UAS AIRBAGS...IFOUND IT ON vipstylecars.com UAS is giving that discount to VSC MEMBERS...YOU CAN JUST SIGN UP TO BE A MEMBER FOR FREE AT THE SITE....YOU CAN CALL WILSON @213-625-3486.... hey i don't know if your interested but you can get a full body kit for your car at body-kits.com for $500.00... really adds a nice look...a nicer look to the SC!!!

  13. hi...i have been doing alot of searching for upgrading my interior on my cars...i have found some great sites ... the first one is VIPSTYLECARS.COM also CARDOMAIN.COM you can search YOUTUBE.COM or LUXURYCARS.COM or FBIRIDES.COM or INTELLEXUAL.NET or ELITEAUTOSTYLE.COM or if you want to try upholstering it yourself with LV,GUCCI,or other name band fabrics...i have found some sites for that too...youtube has how-to videos...anyway try SHANGHAIWEISHENGTRADE.COM or DESIGNERTREASURE.TRIPOD.COM or WINDYCITYFABRICS.COM or URBANSELL.COM orFABRIC4LIFE.COM...oh yeah and you can change the color of all of your interior lights to LEDs for a nice look!!SUPERBRIGHTLEDS.COM... I hope this gets you in the right direction!! A custom interior is what sets a car off from a car with tints and rims to a something custom! good luck and let us know how you make out.
  14. thanks again for the advice....all of, i do appreciate!! my lexus is a 1993 ls400 and i went to autozone and their tester oboII cant be used for my year car.. i don't have a check engine light on and i've jumped and read the codes and nothing is coming up...i will now try your other suggestions...thanks again.

Thanks for all the advice guys...this is why this site is so valuable...i cant afford to take my car to a mechanic...because that is taking money away from making it the way i want... yes i should be able to do most of all the work myself,and save money...so i ask for you guys for your past experiences and knowledge to help...and i do have 3 lexus' but i havent had to pay over $250.00 for any of them...it was people who just couldnt afford to keep paying those over priced lexus mechanics, and one was hit hard in the front...but repairable...keeping costs down doing the work myself... but maybe i will invest in the manuals...i love lexus'. Anyway guys thanks for the advice i will let you know how i make out...THANKS AGAIN
  16. okay so i posted this in the LS400 column and it got moved here because of my name RandySC400....i do own 2 1992 SC400s and a 1993 LS400...thats why the name...anyway i need this to be moved back to the LS400 section so i can get some info from the other LS400 owners even thou the motors are the same... as far as taking my car to a mechanic...that won't happen ever... especially owning a lexus!! Most mechanics are over paid and i am capable of doing the work myself once i know what the problem is. i have replaced those parts because they needed to be replaced...not out of guessing...my lexus has 230,000 on it and some parts are starting to go on it... PLEASE MOVE ME BACK TO THE LS400 SECTION.... THANK YOU... No need for attitude. There wasn't anything in your original post that said it was in the correct forum either, like: "My 93 LS400 is having some issues." So now it's back in the LS forum's for your enjoyment. So have a seat and no touching or picture taking during the shows. THANK YOU!
  17. hey guys im once again asking for your help with my car it has dead spots during excelleration (lunging) and is driving me crazy!! i have replaced both coils and plugs and wires...caps and rotors are also new...i'm thinking it might be the MAF, IAC or the TPS... all which are expensive to replace..any suggestions on how to test each before i spend my money on it??? thank you again for your input!! There may be topics already on this but i cant figure out how to define my searches... thanks guys!!

  19. hey guys...once again i'm asking for some advice on my car... i have a 1993 ls400 and my front drivers seat is broke! all the buttons work but when i try and pull the back up to a upright position the right side of the seat doesn't rise up...i don't know if there is a bent bar or a burnt out motor or a stripped gear inside... it almost seems that the previous driver was heavy and "leaned" in the front seat and bent it or something! i need to fix this because i'm driving the car and i feel like i'm laying down!!!... not very comfortable! does anyone have a seat diagram for me to see before i take the seat apart? i searched it and didn't find anything of value...please help me out guys.... thanks for any imput you can give me!
  20. OK MY CAR IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN...IT WAS MY DRIVERS SIDE COIL THAT WENT BAD!I WOULD LIKE TO FLY TO JAPAN AND PUT MY FOOT UP THE DESIGNERS !Removed! WHO DESIDED TO PUT THE COIL IN SUCH A STUPID SPOT!!! ANYWAY GUYS THANK YOU THANK YOU AND THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND ADVICE!!! MY BABY IS BACK ON THE ROAD!!!! YEAH!! AS FOR "LISACH" WHOSE POST IS JUST ABOVE MINE... CHECK YOUR TPS I BOUGHT MY LS FOR 250.00 AND IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING YOURS IS DOING..THERE ARE 2 SCREWS YOU CAN LOOSEN AND TURN IT TO ADJUST YOUR THROTTLE....AND YOU CAN CLEAN YOUR MAF TOO.... TRY TO ADJUST YOUR TPS BEFORE BUYING ONE THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!
  21. looks nice...did you get your LEDs from SuperbrightLEDs.com??? i just did my interior with blue LEDs and what a difference!!! your looks really nice...some times its the little things that make a big difference!!!
  22. ok im back...i checked the dist. caps and they were both fine... i had replaced them maybe 3 months ago. i cleaned my MAF....and still nothing!! as for asking wat i've done on my vehicle in the past few months was new caps & rotors wires plugs i have a injen cold air intake on it i just cleaned my filter so its not dirty...new exhaust cats back...new starter and fan bracket new belts new water pump new timing belt...im going to check my coils next and see if they are the problem.. i appreciate ALL the advice you guys are helping me with...so thanks again and i will post my results

  24. one more thing...i dont know if it has anything to do with it or not...but about 2 hours before my car loss power i had cleaned the motor at the car wash and while washing it it stalled...then it took about 20 minutes to start up again...it ran rough for a bit then it ran fine for about 2 hours.... maybe water shorted something out?? thanks...
  25. thanks guys im going to do the MAF and check the coils...i gave the car a full tune up like 5 or 6 months ago...thats why i was so surprized when my plugs were totally shot...also my car is just not rough at idle but also when its in drive...i can barely get over 10 mph! it running so bad!...Would a TPS through a code or would a bad TPS be the cause??? i had simular problems with my SC400 and my cats were glowing red!...thats been parked and another whole project i have!! anyway thanks for the advice and i will let you all know how it goes...hopefully it will be a quick easy and inexpensive fix! thanks again
