anyone have experience with this by just turning the IAC clockwise to raise the idle a bit? my idle sits a 4-500 and makes accelerating from a stop really weak.

i would say in my area theyre all just richer older people who have no interest in knowing another SC owner at all. or theyre the complete opposite and have 22s on their SC and are some of the most unpleasant people on the face of the earth.

i posted the same question on clublexus and i got several responses saying "no". however if the part numbers are the same on the mafs, i dont see why they wouldnt be interchangeable. as for the cats, you will lose a little bit of torque, but i doubt you will notice it.

thanks guys. i read that flushing the tranny fluid when its at that point is bad on club lexus...guess i shouldnt believe everything i read. only thing that bugs me about the car right now is the low idle (500) and weird shifting from a stop which i think might have to do with the idle. anyone have luck with tweaking the IAC to raise the idle?

you can run lower grades, but the car itself is tuned for 91, and a lot of lexus owners have had problems with poor idle, acceleration and all around performance when running lower grade gas.

my 95 sc400 just rolled over 135k. what services need to be done? - power steering is leak free, replaced in 05 by lexus - oil was JUST changed before i bought it, still gold colored - tranny fluid is burnt and very dark...ive heard that its bad to flush at this point, but please enlighten me! thanks in advanced.

first, dont ever take your car to that mechanic again, hes a scam artist try retracing all of the lines related to the cooling system. one of the hoses might have slipped off a little bit, just enough to leak.

iwould also say no. Lexus parts are expensive and you can find a perfectly good running sc400 for just a couple thousand dollars more.

should just be able to twist out the bulb counter clockwise from the headlight unit, unclip from the harness and replace with a new bulb unit.

probably a short somewhere in the seat wiring. start at the seat harness and work backwards. does the seat move like it should etc? The seat moves fine in all directions, it's just the heater in the drivers seat that doesn't seem to be working. Michael hm i dont know anything about the actual heating part, but my guess would be something electrical has shorted out etc. try and find a wiring diagram

had a camaro with obx long tubes and they fit perfectly, actually better than more expensive headers and they lasted my ownership of the car. ive heard different experiences though..

thanks for the response...sounds like it has to be the maf. Ive read that some people have been able to clean their mafs..yet others have just had to resort to buying an new sensor. Guess ill try nd pick up a used sensor since new ones are insane amounts of money.

hello, names colin and ive got a 1995 white sc400 hardtop with 134k. recently developed a stuttering problem during acceleration and the check engine light went off. light only goes on when at idle and when im off the gas, it turns off when i start accelerating. slight stuttering and loss of power from about 1k - 2k. pulled the code and it was "DCT: 31 - Vaf circuit" tried cleaning the maf with plastic friendly maf cleaner, reset the ecu and disconnected the batter. problem still persists and the cel still acts the same. do i need to just change the entire sensor? ive read that 95s had a problem with maf malfunctions.... any help appreciated.
