  1. For a lexus to pass as CPO it must have less than 3 body panels with repair work, bumpers not included...
  2. That's especially a good deal for an 06, considering the most recent value of the 400h. Last May, an 08 400h was worth $41,000, now 9 months later an 08 is barely worth $33,000 :( $33,000 for an 06 right now is a HUGE deal.
  3. Yepp, only need a 10mm socket wrench and a flat head screwdriver. Put the console in the "all the way back" position, and put both front seats all the way forward. You'll notice a maybe 4" x 12" panel on the bottom of each side of the console. Pry it off using the flathead screwdriver as it's just held on with clips. After this is removed, you'll be able to see 3 10mm bolts on each side- remove them. Now the console should be free to remove. Hppefully this should give you room to clean. If not, there are more steps to get the console fully out; Lift it a few inches and you'll notice on the pass side, there'll be a metal cable coming from the floor to the console. Find the end of the cable where there'll be a little ball. Remove the cable/ball from its holding place (this cable controls the movement of the console from the handle). Also you'll notice a wire and plug coming from the floor to the console. Unplug it (this gives power to the blue and amber lights inside the console). Now the console should be totally free. To re-install, do everything in reverse order. Remember to re-plug the wire and re-place the cable with the ball on the end. Good luck! <_<
  4. Hey guys, Tonight on the radio i heard a commercial for one of my local Toyota dealers, offering a lifetime warranty of you buy a new (possibly pre-owned too) Toyota from them. It didn't give specifics on what the warranty "actually covers" for the lifetime, but it's certainly gotta be better than nothing. And i don't remember which dealer it was, but i'm pretty sure it's not a nationwide thing. I guess each individual dealer can do whatever they want. Just thought it was interesting! what a great time to buy a new toyota... <_<
  5. I think you'll be able to remove the stains on the 04+ RX leather with a little work. If it were on the older generation or newer LS leather i would say no, but the Rx leather is pretty "rubbery".
  6. Did the 400h have an option for the black pearl badges? What package would that be in?
  7. That's a nice grille, although i think it'll be a little too much chrome. That's one of those things you've gotta see in person before making a definite decision <_<
  8. Haha that's funny, small world. I love that car, you got a nice one!
  9. As long as you get LED bulbs that have built in voltage regulators and heatwinks they should be find in the headlights. HIDconcept.com has several good ones, as does V-LED's. If they say "error canceler" or anything like that you should be good. Check the bulb for little black square electrical devices. Also check input voltage- some LED bulbs are only wired for 12V but others are rated for 11.5-14.5V which is necessary. <_<
  10. ... or if you want the red theme, there's these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS-L-RED...sQ5fAccessories
  11. The SAME one?? lol
  12. I agree, it isn't very nice looking. It might look better against black (since it will have better contrast) but who knows... My opinion the best emblems are still the ones for the 08 400h (with the blue accents) <_<
  13. Yeah, i would stay away from changing the wheels too much <_< Modifications that keep the OEM look work better with the RX in my opinion. I actually noticed a 400h on ebay with blacked out emblems. Not sure if they're an OEM version or what, but they're... interesting. If they are indeed OEM, any lexus dealer or autobody shop can look up part numbers with the VIN. That car's VIN is JTJHW31U272017558. A little warning, the front emblem for the 400h is a different size than the emblem of the rx330/350. And you would need to figure out what to do with the "400h" since yours is a 330...
  14. Yeah, that's a good point... I don't care HOW good a repair shop might be, a structural repair will never be as strong as when original. I wouldn't want to be driving around in a car that's had structural damage even if welded back in place. I just wouldn't trust it in an accident... :( Paintwork i don't mind since it doesn't affect structural integrity, but anything to deal with the frame and hidden parts i would worry about. That's why most people buying a car often run the other way when they see a carfax with accident history. <_<
  15. That's $32,881.46 USD. Definitely more than it's actually worth!
  16. I doubt this problem is beng caused by faulty sensors/switches. The only switch that "could" be causing this is the gas pedal. All it is, is a sort of potentiometer that sends a changing signal to the computer based on how much it's being depressed-sort of like a dimmer switch for a light, or an auto-leveling switch for headlights... The only way this type of mechanical switch could fail is if it gets "stuck" in one position or if the internal components break and cause things to touch that aren't supposed to. And when a switch breaks, it breaks. It cannot repair itself. And out of all the cars that have had this runaway problem, all of the switches were fine, and users stated that the pedal wasn't "stuck" itself, but that it just wasn't responsive no matter how much it was moved. The only component left is the computer itself or any of the motors/devices after the computer. But none of those devices seemed to be damaged on any of the cars with the problem, and it's just not likely that they'd all fail the same way (wide open throttle). So the computer is the only device left... It's like when your computer freezes. You can move the mouse, press Ctrl+alt+delete, nothing will happen. Doesn't mean the mouse or keyboard is broken, it's just that the computer is in a state where it isn't accepting input to change the output (screen). Just my educated guess.
  17. Oh trust me, somewhere in the world Toyota's got 200+ cars running on a dyno 24/7 with everything hooked up hoping they can duplicate the problem... If not, they'll just start fresh. Build a new ECU that they'll just replace with all of the cars that have the issue.
  18. What are you trying to acheive? Are you just looking for voltage? Do you want voltage all the time, or only when the car's in ACC/ON? I have a pretty advanced radar system installed in my 400h, all remote. I used voltage from the cig lighter. If you take out the panel in the center console you can get to the wires behind the cig plug. This way you'd get 12V only when the car is in ACC or when it's ON. Then you can run some wires from the back of the cig plug across/under the dash to the left of the car. I'm not sure where you can pick up voltage from the fuse box without controlling current. Good thing about tapping off the cig plus is that it has a seperate fuse so you won't damage any vital components if anything goes wrong.
  19. Toyota can't even find the problem with it, you think someone else is? It's like dealing with a computer that glitches "every once and a while". Unless an engineer is IN a car WHILE it's failing having every electrical component hooked up to diagnostics... they'll never find where the glitch is.
  20. Sounds like the rx450h has the same problem in the snow that the rx400h does At least the 400h is full time.
  21. The Euro Rx's don't have clear, they're just like ours. I like the ones pictured on the left. I'm pretty sure the IS300 ones won't fit on the RX... And i also think the front and rear markers for the Rx are symmetrical. Examine each to confirm they're the same shape.
  22. Yeah definitely agree <_<
  23. It's the entire reflector itself that moves. I believe on the GS the reflector is pivoted at the top and at the bottom-left/right somewhere it's attached to a motor that pushes out a rod. This rod pushes inward or pulls outward which makes the reflector angle up or down <_<
  24. I'd say it depends on what's been done with it. If it's had the latest services and doesn't need any new high price repairs, then you should be OK for 2 years.
  25. Hmm... one of the wires going to the steering wheel must be broken or disconnected somewhere. Since EVERYTHING is out, switch functionality and lights, i am guessing a common ground. does your horn still work? What about the cruise control buttons? Probably irrelevant but it might be helpful. There are several wires (maybe 8 or so) that go from beneath the steering column, through this thing called a "clockspring" into the steering wheel and to the left and right controls. The issue could be anywhere in that line.
