  1. Did replace the brake master cylinder today..~bleeds all 4 from the brake lines.. but still when i step on the brake the pedal sometimes still goes real deep.. :( Or maybe there still air trapped inside the system? The Worst thing to do after i replaced the brake master cylinder i start the car and shifted to D ~drive damn i stepped on the brake, but the car keep on rollin NO BRAKE ~ i was panic dont know what to do step on the brake shifted back to P~parking whew~I bleeded few time (about 1 half bottle brake fluid) tried to get the whole air out of the brake system..
  2. Alanc & Dougjohn: I asked my mechanic , also few other mechanic but end up got the same answer. Which if you see the brake fluid (reservoir) darked, that means the brake fluid contaminated from the master cylinder ~can cause rubber worn out from the master cylinder itself. I did everyhting u guys named~ check all the brake pads(still 75%thickness) by the way im using orginal Toyota Pads (had bad experienced from other brand which is Squeak ,etc.. Also i did bleeds all 4 lines with the step by step from front left- front right then rear left -rear right with the engine on. All that only good for while but after i drove for few miles still ...when i step on the brake or sometimes on stop n go traffic i feel it the brake pedal goes deep n deeper. Will that possibly true that the brake master cylinder gotta go... Also i look the brake fluid (reservoir) dark color , i remember the fluid should be like goldish color. Do you guys think this maybe one of the cause problem i have? :( Thanks for all the comments & info
  3. Dear all 450 owners: Anyone been replace brake master cylinder? The other while i was drivin i noticed that when i stepped on the brake pedal, the brake pedal goes deep~deeper. And i checked on the all brake pads they all fine still 75% thickness. Well my450 never had brake master cylinder replace in 7 years~not even once. I been thinking to replace it by myself, since i already bought new one from local dealer. My question is replacin the brake master cylinder hard to do? I know after install new one needs to be bleeds from all 4 brake lines. I appreciate for experienced , share & info
  4. Yeah i agreed to the rear canister muffler, i had changed my exhaust system due noise from the back.   5. Dear MaxnHarry: Lemme know whether the JBL 626 also fit thru factory hole ~ for the rear passenger door speaker> i think if it fits shouldnt have problem by the clearance. I know the front kinda very tight/almost impossible thru fits any 6 1/2 speakers. Thanks for ur info
  6. I get rid off my center sub, i have TV,TV Tuner box & DVD on my 450, u know basically on the 450 not much room left inside. When u decide to have TV tuner the box itself come pretty big around 5x7 with"2 in thickness so what idid to get rid off of the center sub by replacin/ put the tuner box in. So now i dont have the center sub nomore.. Anyways.. when u play talk show, songs i guess while u drivin u really cant hear from the center sub, unless we talkin about home theater that really big concern to have center sub/speaker. Pro 450-470~
  7. Dear MaxnHarry: Now when u mention it didnt fit perfectly u mean real bad or lots of mods required just to fits both JBL GT0 626? Also i check the price from crutchfield.com the price around $120 a pair without shippin charge & handling yet... One more thing.. the JBL GT0 626 that u had mention for the front door right? How bout the rear door? Any recommends on the rear door also? Thanks

If u can please let me know.. i also looking for stock factory speaker replacement for the LX 450, the website u copy & paste wont open, www.cardomain.com/id/sharr51844 and cardomain.com/id/sharr5 I know its hard to find factory replacement speaker for the LX450, i been looking arounds , also been discussed with crutchfield and most of them just turned me down because of the limit/tight space for the LX450. :( So please if any of u guys owned LX450 out there had replaced the factory speaker let me know, by the way i had doubledin pionner head unit runnin with the factory speaker right now.   10. Lx 450 owner: How many miles u have on ur 450? Growlin sounds u mean when u hit accelerate around 3-4 K? Really need to know what kinda sounds is it? I owned 97 ~450 bought it as baby brand new 7 yrs ago with 0 mile and now had 164K miles on still runnin smooth , perfect~ LOVE the straight 6 :D I traveled around the world & been tested LC the straight 6 engine model, u know the funny thing here in the US the car didnt come with the Turbo??? I mean stock factory Turbo from Toyota. Other countries such German, Australia , Arab & Asia this straight 6 motor is the most reliable on earth!! it gives more Torque, and i know some of models in other countries come with Diesel and Turbo on it~ and that sounds kinda rattling/ rough when u hit around 3-4.5K RPM. But thats different story its Diesel, not runnin gas. Also could be/ probably symptoms of the piston/rings worn out, also sometimes to try eliminate the engine noise can try by usin thicker oil not all but mix some, with 164K right now im usin Mobil 1 Super Synthetic 6.5 Quarts of 10W-30 green cap & 1 Quart of 15W-50 red cap. Well basically u cant compare the straight 6 with the '98 V8 model. I also owned '02 LX 470 the motor much run much more quieter sometimes u cant hardly hear on the idle. Welcome to the Club & G@@d choice by purchased LX 450 :)
  11. Just found that today that after 3 weeks special ordered part Chrome housing & also installed today on my 97'LX 450 that everythings perfectly fine , fits and no problems at all. But one thing i noticed the mirror slightly different after observed and l@@k it really closely, which the LC mirror kinda little brownish , while my stock factory LX 450 had slightly light blue ~ same as on the Benz & Bimmers. Just wondering why? :o so i end up switched my old LX blue mirror into my new LC chrome housing.. PS: The Chrome housing only available on '96 LC Limited edition model.

  13. I agreed with DougJohn, the LC80 /LX450 made to be rock solid, everythings great I personally owned the 97LX 450 for 7 yrs~ from 0 mileage until 163K now! What can i say more ~ im one of the kind LX450 in the US land with all hard & rare mods from overseas such as all around clear crystal lamps, front corner , front turn signal & rear tail lamp all clear... :D Go get the LC 80 or LX450 dont hesitate built to be the last ~ with the timing chain! not rubber <_< G@@d Luck!~

Yeah i replaced the old shift knob with aluminum round blue neon... 1 of kind , @ nite time its really nice.... people been askin ~ glowin shift knob?? hhuehee.e. ;) not easy to install thou.. u gotta run all the necessary wiring and connect it to the dim lights.. by the way i got this short shift knob from over seas... not available in the states..

Supposely the name of Lexusownersclub can also make/help the LX owners to meet each other to have better idea,share & thoughts in the LX problem.Because from there we can see in reality and hear what others done to theirs GX,LX in the past.

  18. Dear all LX 450-470 enthusiast: Since i lowered both my Lx450 & Lx470 and go with big rims n low profile rubber still dont look flush from rear fender flares. Lx450~ 23x10~ 305/35/23 with 1.5 inch wheel spacer(Billet aluminum) Lx470~ 26x10~ 305/25/26 with 1.75 in wheel spacer(Billet aluminum) And now the problem is when i look the car form the back, the rear right side just flush(even) with fender flares which i like the way it looks :D But the left rear it seems i dont understand it just way too much in, is it the way the LX set up from the factory or can i just adjust the rear lateral rod to make it look flush ??? :( Do u guys know how to adjust rear lateral rod to make it even ???   19. Thats True ~ i have 23 x10 with 305/35/23 new Pirelli Asimmetrico rubbers also 4' inch drop coilover spring with 5 way adjustable RANCHO RS 9000 shock.The car doesnt ride smooth as when have 16 rims on. Depends on the LX owner, stay with looks or better with full comfy.
  20. Good question on the antenna, i think on the lx450 thats the way it is same as mine, in the beginning it bothered me alots until now sometimes when i turn on Cd still like that.. but anyways.. i think thats the way it is how they set up from the factory, not on the 470 i guess....

And dont get ripped off mostly Lexus dealer charge too much for touch up paint, they usually cost around between $3- $6buks each, for 2 tones color specially found on the LX 450-470 model theres only 2 different kind touch up paint, one for the top & the other for the bottom part.   22. ~97 LX 450 with 150k on it , ;) Yea i been replaced all the instruments lights by myself, u just gotta take precautions & passion when u take all the dash, center panel off, make sure u remember when later on u out them back in right place. Mostly the bulb u just gotta order it from Toyota dealers, most dealers im pretty sure they dont have that tiny bulbs in stock. Last time i replaced all my dashboadrs tiny bulbs included automatic trans lights now all of them very bright just like new car :D Good Luck~
