Go for it-you won't be sorry. As I've said in other posts, the 05 LS's coming off lease now are the deal of the century. You get a $70-80K car at way less than half price that's the most dependable car ever tested by Consumer reports and many say is the finest production vehicle made. Also, with the possible exception of the few cars that come with free maintenance, the Lexus vehicles are the best maintained out there. I've been very happy with mine. Just make sure to shop around and don't settle for something just to get it. There are so many LS's out there now, there's no reason to not get exactly what you want. Steve

You could just jumper the sensor wires together at the brakes. This would, of course disable the warning system, and so I don't recommend it, but it would get rid of the warning. The new sensors are about $60, if you decide to replace it. By the way, if you replace the sensor, some people are cable-tying the sensor up away from the brakes to avoid having to replace them in the future, but again, you lose the warning system. Steve

When shopping for my LS430, an honest dealer told me that Carfax was actually kind of an inside joke with used dealers. It seems that Carfax is not connected to Meecham car auctions, where the majority of lease auction cars are sold, at least on the West Coast. If the car has unibody damage, it's reported at auction, but only AutoCheck is linked and reports it, not Carfax. This dealer told me that some dishonest dealers actually search out these cars because most people only check Carfax, where the frame damage isn't listed. Sure enough, when I checked many of the cars from Autotrader that had a clean Carfax, the Autocheck showed Unibody damage. The other thing that's cool about Autocheck is that it's unlimited checks for 60 days, as opposed to Carfax which is 10 reports for a similar price. Steve
