  1. I put in a JVC aftermarket deck, .....2000/watt MA Audio comp. amp,.... SPL 10" 2200/W sub in a bandpass box, ....2- 6 1/4" boss rear deck speakers,...2 boss 4" door speaker and new tweeters,.. I've been reading install kits are basicly a waste of cash in most cases and rather than destroy the stock wiring harness, and deal with small gauge wires, I opted to rewire the whole system and glad I did !
  2. If you plan on parting that out, ..I could use an instrument cluster, let us know.
  3. White smoke, slow reving, hard to start when hot...... kinda sounds like a head gasket leaking coolant into a cylinder or 2......white smoke = coolant,........blue smoke = oil,..............black smoke = fuel, Getting oil in the cooling system? Having to add coolant? Engine temp normal? we need details
  4. My partner and I stumbled on to this ages ago with the cheap plastic commonly found on japanese motorcycles.......Mothers aluminum polish...removes the oxidation from headlamp covers, leaving the covers smooth and highly polished...not to mention clear.....now if I can only figure a way to keep them looking new like this.
  5. my 93 SC is very very picky about where I buy her gas.!
  6. Well Taylor, Hopefully this will save you great time and gigantic headaches......My advice, keep the pioneer head unit, buy a aftermarket amp and speakers and sub woofer, .......wire the job yourself ( or with the help of a techy friend ) bypassing the stock wires and if you like removing the stock cd changer and amp. Days of dealing with trying to make the stock stuff work showed me the error of my ways. Clyde ;) BTW....Yes its the easy way out...but....Oh well !
  7. No stuttering or abnormal stuff .....in DRIVE it shifts normal 1st to 2nd.....immediately followed by 3rd and OD...without building any revs in between 2nd and 3rd or between 3rd and OD. Thx again Clyde
  8. yes I did, it didn't make any difference in the way it shifts in the drive position.......I will add tho, when I start out in 2nd gear.......... the shift between 1st and 2nd gears seems to be normal
  9. Ok...New issue has developed with my 93 SC 400. It recently started short shifting thru the entire range of gears, right off the stop it uses 1st ok then long before enuff revs are built ......it shifts to 2nd then into 3rd and on into OD .....making the engine lug terrible Any suggestions?...I idea's on where to start? Thx in advance Clyde
  10. The speedometer in my 93 SC 400, hasn't worked since I bought it couple months back. It flops randomly ...(for the most part).... like it's getting some kinda signal from the sensors or one sensor or even partial signal from somewhere...lol..so that leads me to believe the gauge is ok. My question..... ....Am I correct in assuming the two sensors ( one either side of the trans tail shaft housing) are the sensors in question? Are these sensors the most obvious cause? Thx in advance Clyde
  11. OK ...Obviously some folks change the stock head unit with something a little more "powerful"....which I managed ..... My problem is integrating the new head units single power antenna lead to run the 3 wire stock power antenna. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thx Clyde
