  1. I also recently purchased a 1994 GS300 with 187000. I knew the car was in need of repair. Currently I have over 16000.00 invested in the vehicle and no where near where I want it to be. Like HRP stated if you have an emergency vehicle then it's worth keeping and slowly have the work done when finances are available. My reason for pumping so much money into such a old vehicle is simple. I LOVE MY LEX. It is an awesome vehicle . Surpassing comfort, design and style found in many newer vehicles. Its is a labor of Love. Call me crazy or fanatic but my intention is to restore this car to showroom condition and beyond. It takes time, money and most of all desire. Did I mention Money...........
  2. TWINTURBO619, Thanks I really appreciate it. I was worried that I might have to put the stock lights back on....
  3. glad to hear that it all worked out fine with your lights. i'm always out to help fellow gs owners. enjoy your new clean lights. just remember to keep doing that when you wash your car. eventually they'll stop yellowing. mine did. they just stay clear now. TWINTURBO619, I am hoping that you might be able to help me out. I have a set of JDM headlight but the drivers side has a broken stud on it. The headlight does not sit flush against the car. I was looking for a replacement. The car is a 1994 GS300. Any help would be appreciated. THanks redstar1428
  4. Guys, When I was at a stop light, the whole car starts to vibrate. When I put it in neutral, it went away and once I put it in drive (Still stopped) it came right back. Any ideas on what I should look for? Thanks
  5. 1994 GS 300 185438 miles and still running strong. As others have said keep up with the maintenance and it will last you a long long long time.
  6. Just wanted to thank you all for the info regarding body kits. As a new owner of a 94 GS 300 I have been trying to find all the different kits that are available for my car. I have now narrowed the search by design to the following, Junction Produce Ab-Flug Veilside Wald Elite Inspection. I guess my next deciding factor will be cost. Out of the following list I am leaning towards the Inspection or the Wald. Thanks Again
  7. Why would you recommend that. I have started to become very familiar with this vehicle and know what has been replaced and what still needs to be done. The car is solid with most of the normal wear and tear componenets in the suspension system replaced. I just finished reupholstering the interior as well as repairing the cluster. I had the shift knob dyed and replaced. I am now in the process of having the steering wheel reconditioned. I have also ordered but not yet installed the rosewood wood trim package. The body and frame are in ecxellent condition. And since it is my intention to replace the engine and add a turbo package I see no reason to start off with another car in which I am unfamiliar with. My question is what else should I consider changing, such as fuel delivery system as well as possibly adding the MSD ignition compenent to enhance the spark discharge.
  8. I started looking at the different turbo packages and your right my engine has way to many miles on it. So as crazy as it sounds I am in the process of purchasing either a new engine or a low mileage engine. I will then purchase the turbo. What other mods would you recommend with the turbo ie.. fuel, suspension, etc
  9. Has anyone ever installed a Turbonetics (F-Max) Turbo Kit for SC300 and GS300?
  10. Okay, besides changing the torque converter for front line performance and adding greddy headers I am trying to find out what else can be done to increase engine performance/horspower. I am looking to garage my Lex and do what I have to do to get it where I want. I figured I would start with the engine mods and then get into the suspension. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 1994 GS300 185120 Miles.
  11. I have also researched this area and found that the eibach springs provide the best bang for your buck when trying to get performance without sacrificing to much comfort. However the only struts I have found so far that work with the 1st Gen GS300 are the KYB..... I would appreciate ant addtional info anyone may have.
  12. Mr. O This is where I got my wood trim kit for my Lexus GS300. I purchased the 22 piece kit woodtrim.com. The kit is unbelieveable. Real wood not those cheap imitations. However they are not cheap. My kit cost over 300.00 but it was worth every penny.
  13. Guy, I had to get one for my 94 GS300. It was the entire cup holder assembly that get installed in the armrest of the center console. I orderd it from Sewell Lexus located in Texas. Part number556020-30012-A0 at a cost of 123.16 plus shipping. Please keep in mind that the part number references the color of the vehicle so your number may be different. The phone number of for Sewell is 214-353-2826
  14. dko, Anyway of you picking me up one of those shift knobs for a 1994 Lexus GS300 Brown Interior? I can call you and pay via credit card, check or MO.
  15. Brakatk, Thanks for the info. This will help in deciding what to get.
  16. I just purchased a 1994 GS300. Can someone recommend a spring and shock solution. I want to increase the handlng performance without lowering the vehicle and sacrificeing all the comfort. Possibly something in the midrange that can provide both performance and ride quality.
  17. Your probably right, I am already tossing ideas around regarding the sound system. Thinking of getting a new radio with a touch screen LCD and two more screens in the headrest. To take it even further does anyone know where I can find out info and hi performance mods for the engine? I will be posting pics soon.
  18. Well, I finally got my first Lexus. It's a 1994 GS300 with 183000 that I picked up for 3000.00. So far I have done the Major Tune-Up, Oil Change, Trans Tune-Up, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Change the cam shaft and crankshaft seals, complete brake job with new rotors for the rear, new brake hoses for the front and one new left front caliper, replaced the flange on the exhaust system, replaced the upper and lower control arms with ball joints on the front left and right. replaced the tension pulley. Had the seats reupholstered. Purchased a new 22 piece wood trim kit. Replaced one motor mount. Had a complete alignment with high speed balance. I have replaced the shift knob, cup holder and outside door trim around the drivers door. I still need to fix the instrument cluster, two needled are not lighting up. I also want to replace the rear trim on the trunk where is says GS300. the reason is because the plastic is cracked. Once I complete everything, I will have the car repainted, mother of pearl( original color). Then I will be satisfied at which time my marriage will be over due to my wife killing me for spending all this money............
