  1. This is for my mother's 1999 Nissan Sentra. I was just wondering if changing a window motor (driver's side) is pretty much the same no matter what kind of car it is? If so, how would I go about changing a window motor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. try different fm radio channel. the right and left side are equal to the 2 stereo signals of fm multiplex. so its like your off frequency on fm station. ← OK, I will try that. Thanks! ← That did not fix the problem. Any other suggestions? Please...

  4. My speakers play fine when I play the radio. BUT, when I play my CD changer (aftermarket w/ FM modulator, JVC) the right side speakers (front and back) are distorted. They are not distorted when I play the radio, but as soon as I try to listen to a CD the right side is distorted. They play, but distorted. They were working fine up until a couple of days ago. What should I check? Please Help. Thanks!
  5. My cousin has a 1998 GS 300 and his driver side sidemarker light is out. I can't remember is he told me it was the front or the back. Either way, how do you change out the lights on the sidemarker lights (front and rear). Thanks!
  6. No problem, Rush. Thanks, anyway. Turbo, Thanks, again! I'll let you know how it turns out today. :D I am on my way out the door now to go do it! ← Done Deal!!! :D It was a tight squeeze for that top bolt. but this guy had a nice long extension and 360 degree swivel (for the ratchet). I would not have been able to do it, if it wasn't for Turbo! Thanks, man!! :D Oh yeah... I did sand down the plunger, too! Thanks, Rush! This board is great!

  8. Thanks, again, Turbo! :D I'll try again, I guess. B) That top bolt (if I am under the car) is a to get to, but a long extension with a flex head may do it. The bottom bolt (from under the car) is easy access!
  9. When you say "front of the starter" are you referring to the side that faces the rear of the car? That long bolt is skinny, isn't it?
  10. Turbo, Man, you are the greatest! Is there any way you can send that picture? If you are looking at your manual (at the 2 bolts) and the bolts were numbers on a clock, would they be in the 11 and maybe 6 o'clock position??
  11. I am trying to take my starter out. First, what did you use to get that TOP bolt off with? Did you take it off from under the car or though the top of the engine? I can only see 2 bolts (from under the car) that seem to hold the starter in. Those 2 bolts are facing to the rear of the car and one is about 6 inches higher than the other. Am I right? Please Help!

  13. Turbo, Where can I get the solenoid repair kit from (Toyota or Lexus)? Is there a kit number?
  14. I really need to get my car fixed. It clicks once when I turn the key. Has anyone ever replaced the starter or replaced the contacts in the starter? Please give me all the info/suggestions you can. I am going to do it myself. Please Help!
  15. Thanks! So, you are sure that our starter DOES NOT have solenoid contacts inside??? ← I'm sorry, Yes, it does. The way it looked in the service manual it looked as if it didn't. In the diagram flow chart it showed the starter relay and then going straight to the starter. However, after looking at it again it shows a starter connector. I would still doublecheck the starter relay, then if that does nothing remove the starter and have it tested. Once the starter is removed you can test the soleniod yourself by hooking power to the starter terminal and grounding the case of the starter. It should kick the starter gear outwards. WATCH YOUR FINGERS, KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE STARTER GEAR. <_< ← Thanks!

  17. Turbo, Can you give me some details as what to do to pull the starter out? Armature? Brushes? All the info you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Has this happened to your GS 300? What did you do? I need to know what to look for if I have to take the starter out, then apart? Where do I take it apart at? What will I be looking at when I take it apart? I know I have a lot of questions, but I need to get my car back on the road ASAP! Please Help!
  18. I have a 1996 GS 300 and I need to know if anyone has the Part Numbers for the Starter Solenoid Contacts for the Toyota starter that fits in our starters? Please Help! Thanks!
  19. I have a 1996 GS 300. I need to replace my starter. First, where is it located? Can anyone tell me how to change the starter on my car? Is it hard to do? I changed the starter on my Land Cruiser about 3 months ago. It was easy access, though. Please Help! Thanks, in advance!
  20. Can anyone tell me how to change the starter on my car? Is it hard to do?
  21. Was it hard to do that? Does anyone know how much a new starter would be?
  22. I have a 1996 GS 300. I have changed the battery. I put in a new negative battery cable. The problem has not gone away. When I go to start the car, I turn the key and it just clicks once. I have to turn the key back and forth about 2 or 3 times before the car will start. What could it be? Anyone else had this problem before? Please HELP! :cries:
