  2. Turbo, Are you saying this from experience? You know when the clearcoat has come off a wheel it looks like dried up water on your wheel that will not come off. So with that, I can do what you stated above? Let me know. :D ← The dried up water look is just oxidation, the meguiars will help remove that. What have you got to lose? <_< ← So, do the steps you stated above?
  3. I have a 1996 GS and I was wondering will 245/45/18 fit on my car without rubbing of should I stay with 245/40/18? The wheels are 18 X 8. Enkei Aegis. Thanks!

  5. Just the clearcoat has peeled off and it looks like dried up water is all around the lip of the wheel. I was told the clearcoat has peeled off. It hasn't come off on the inner wheel (3 piece wheel), it is just the lip. ← you could probably reclearcoat it yourself or take it to a paint shop and see what they'd charge you. ← Don't they have to sand it, then re-clearcoat? Can I do that myself? If you know how I can, Turbo, let me know. I am willing to "save a buck". :D

  7. I need a set of 17" stock wheels. Preferably, from the GS. Anyone willing to sell theirs?
  8. I have a wheel (lip) that needs to be re-clearcoated. Can anyone tell me where I can get this done? Thanks!
  9. The mechanic told my aunt that it was the O2 Sensor. He wants to charge her about $280 total for parts and labor.
  10. Vipper, Do you have any pics of your wheels from yours? Chrome or silver? Let me know. Thanks!
  11. Thanks, but, where is it? What are the steps to take it off? Is it hard to do? Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  12. My aunt has a 2000 (?) RX 300 and her O2 sensor needs replacing. Can anyone tell me how to replace it if she purchases it for me? Thanks!
  13. Anyone have a set just sitting in their garge collecting dust? Let me know. Thanks!
  14. Briggs, I will take those 17s off your hands! How much you want for them?
  15. Locate the drain plug for the tranny and drop it like you would for a oil change, Let it drain and replace the plug and fill through the dipstick about 2 quarts. Differential is the sane except for there is a fill plug that has to be loosened before the drain plug both are 10mm allen. remove the fill pluf then remove the drain plug , Let it drain. replace the drain plug and you will have to pump the gear oil back in until it starts to overflow. Replace the fill plug and your done. ← Thanks, DC!
  16. I have a 1996 GS and I think my distributor O ring has a little oily spot around it. First, let me make sure I know what I am talking about. Is the distr O ring where the hose comes from the top of the engine on the driver's side (if standing in front of the car looking down on the engine)? Is it easy to replace or just worth paying the money? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  17. Thanks, Wicked & Turbo. Turbo, did you do yours yourself? if so, tell me how you did it. :D
  18. I need to change my tranny fluid and differential fuid. Can I do it myself? I am a novice at this, but I CAN follow directions. If so, can someone tell me how? Thanks! I have a 1996 GS3.
  19. Thanks, abear. Can anyone else chime in? It seems pretty easy so far.
  20. No problem, Rush. Thanks, anyway. Turbo, Thanks, again! I'll let you know how it turns out today. :D I am on my way out the door now to go do it! ← Done Deal!!! :D It was a tight squeeze for that top bolt. but this guy had a nice long extension and 360 degree swivel (for the ratchet). I would not have been able to do it, if it wasn't for Turbo! Thanks, man!! :D Oh yeah... I did sand down the plunger, too! Thanks, Rush! This board is great! ← Hi guys, I surfed and found your discussion on the starter replacement. I'm contemplating of doing mine tomorrow (replace contacts and clean it) but noticed that you mentioned a 360 swivel and extension to get to the top bolt. Is that an extension swivel or a socket swivel? By the way, what size are the bolts? Thanks in advance for your help. ← Brick, I don't remember what sized bolts they were. Sorry. It was a socket swivel. It swivelled 360 degrees and then the socket attached to the end of that. Also, I went to Toyota and purchased the contacts for the Supra of the same year as my GS (1996). They fit perfect! Good luck! It really is not hard to do and I am not a great mechanic by any means. I just know how to "follow directions" well. :D
  21. Can I add an aftermarket amp to my stock system? I think my amp has gone bad or is going bad. If I can add an aftermarket amp, how do I do it? I am going to do this myself. Please help. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  22. I have a set of Enkei Aegis on my GS. Well, two of the wheels' clearcoat has come off. It looks as if I have dried up water on the lips of both wheels. I don't know if anyone knows this but, on the AEGIS (it is a 3 piece wheel), the wheel itself is chrome and the lips are polished (alloy I think). So the (inner) wheels are fine it is just that the lips are "shot". Can I fix this peeled clearcoat problem myself or what? Please help!
