I called Lexus...actually i called a 3rd party company that Lexus uses for repairs on its LX470 bluetooth issues... Bottom line: They received a memo from Verizon Wireless last Friday morning, stating there are known issues with this phone (signal strength meter, no ringing, etc.).--the fix will be out in November of 2004 (expected date). That is the most up to date info. It IS a Verizon issue, they do know about it, and the fix is coming in November. I have no idea what that fix will consist of, but its a fix anyways. Perry

I dont know if this one touch dial system actually works while the car is moving or not from experience, but on Page 119 of the navigation system manual of 2004 lx470, it states that one touch call cannot be operated while you are driving. Is this actually true....anyone actually able to do this while driving??? Also, can you give name and phone number of company who can disable the spped sensor safety feature???

Depends on what you want and how much you are willing to pay. There are SUV's out there that can tow more than the LX. Also, any SUV can carry quite a bit. If your primary concern is ride quality, look no further, the lx is your best bet in my opinion. I have heard the Cadillac is a very nice ride, but I have never driven it. It just depends on your priorities.

I will be getting my phone on Sept 15, and you can be sure as anything that I will be calling!

So, I guess this is more of a pain in the butt more than anything, as you can enter all your numbers into the lexus system manually. I guess the other issue is the no ringing problem.

Has anyone else had the problem of not being able to download the phonebook into the lexus bt system, as Kort is having?? (Kort, correct me if im misunderstanding the problem you are having with your phonebook). If I recall, I thought DB S600 did this without a problem.

I will be getting my new bluetooth verizon phone in september, and I have some questions. How is the quality of the sound, when speaking and listening?? Can you hear everything ok, and can your party on the other line hear everything ok?? Also, I see that the manual more or less states that no call can me made while moving...does anyone have a way around this? If not, this is a major downfall of the Lexus bluetooth system, in my opinion. Has anyone heard about the verizon wireless motorola v710 having a fix for the audible incoming call ringer problem?? Has anyone found any specific places in the lx470 that if you put your cell there, the bluetooth wont work (glove compartment, center console, etc)?? Anyone's opinions are more than welcome about any other aspect of bluetooth too please...

Reading the manual, it states there are six ways to make a call. 1-5 states this can not be done if the car is moving. The 6th method I didnt quite understand.

So, does this over the air programming fix work??

I am so happy that this phone actually atleast works with bluetooth in the lx 470!! My big worry is that it would not even work. I am also very excited to see that Motorola has a fix coming!!! I will be getting the phone myself sept 15 (when i get the cheaper 2 year upgrade rate!). I am not all that familiar with how this works though...so i have a question. Where does the phone need to be while you are in the car?? Can it be on your person, or does it need to be in the car at a specific location??

so is there really NO way to work the navi system while the truck is moving??? Not being able to do this is the BIGGEST pain in the butt!!!! (2004 lx 470)

Has anyone been off roading with their lx 470?? If so, have any of you used after market equipment for it, or just stock?? Ive been off roading with mine, and busted up the dang side step...$1500 repairs!! WHat off roading have people done in here???

done...and did not fix it. It is not at all spped related, only RPM related. Any other suggestion?

Has anyone ever noticed a problem with floor vibrations when over 2500RPMs?? This is a very annoying problem in my 2004 LX 470, and the dealer is not sure what to think of it yet. Every time my RPMs pass 2500, there is a floor vibration. It goes away once the car down shifts and the RPMs are reduced. It is completely RPM related, not speed related. Its a real pain when cruising at sppeds of 75-80MPH becuase the RPMs sit at about 2700, and the vibration of course is then constant. Please, any ideas would be very appreciated!! Perry

I understand I would want to lock the differential when in slippery conditions. (Let me know if I am wrong on that). However, how do you activate it?? Do you need to be stopped, or below a certain speed? Also, how fast can you go with it locked??
