Has anyone had their LS 430 clear coat repainted ?

I have a 2003 LS430 UL. I was getting po 420 and 430 codes. The codes were coming on when the car was at 1200 to 1400 rpm in 4th gear under light engine load. I purchased a new ypipe from ebay and had a muffler shop install it. They said the originaly pipe was stainless steel and they could repiar it if i wanted them to, but I had them install the new stainless y pipe. The technician said that the crack starts where the clamp was spot welded onto the y pipe, even though the y pipe is stainless it still oxidizes just at a slow rate. Myself i will not reinstall the heat sheilds seeing how they cause deterioration of the y pipe.

My GPS is not getting signal, wasnt working for a while then it did pick up a statilite signal and the GPS box was showing, now it isnt working again . Any ideas. I have a 2003 LS 430 UL with version 3.1 nav disk.Thanks

Hi Go to( lexus.com ) .At the top of there home page go to ( Owners) it will open up a list click on (Owners Resources). Then click on( Log IN) . Then click on (Register as a Lexus Enthusiast) . Hope this works for you. I did have a look and you can have a number of virtual vechicles and listed LS model from 1990 up. good luck!!!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I went to lexus.com site and i was able to join as an enthusiast and gain acces to their online owners manual. If anyone needs some information on their lexus that is a excellent way to get access to all models and years ,even without being an owner, or if you misplace your manuals. May be worth while listing this information in the topic title area as a reference . Merry Christmas too all..........

Hi All ,. Just curious if you dont change your belt at 90,00 just how long are you going to wait to change it? How long will you put it off. If you are going to go another 10,000 to 20,000 miles then change it ,why wait ? Its going to get changed anyway. Other than that would u want to go another 50,000 to 100,00 miles you would be taking a big risk. Just curious I had a 4 cylinder car a 1994 I only changed the belt earlier this year, it lasted. The belt seemed in ok condition but i knew it was not safe to run. The rubber gets old and hard and the teeth can get torn off and the belt may not break .

OK thanks i was just checking trying, not to be issue here lol.Im in canada and i did register at lexus.ca when i go to my cars ,all they display there is the maintenance schedule and the owners manual supplement . The supplement is vage mostly about warranty. Anyway thanks for replying, and if necessary i will order

Hi I bought my ls 430 from a used car dealer and there were no manuals. My question is , is there a place in the vechicle where the manuals are located . Or are they just handed over to the owner at time of sale? Thought maybe there is a storage compartment where they may be kept in the car Thanks for looking.

Hi Thanks i did call lexus canada . They took my name and registerd me as the new owner and will email me within 48 hrs so as to get access to club lexus. Also i found a maintenance schedule in the lexus website for the maintenance intervals and work to be performed. An no it would not accept my VIN# had to call as im the secong owner

wow i m not really sure where some of u get your perceptions from, but if you want to believe them go ahead. If you spend sometime you will find out that high octane fuel really does burn at a slower rate . Hey check the net!!! if you don't believe me. I have worked on many gasoline engines being a mechanic , and if you dont think that motorcycles ,ones that dont have EGR systems, dont get varnish build up on the intake, hey believe what u want. Sure dont know why the petrolium industry adds more detergents and cleaners to high octane fuels . Hey forget about fuel injector cleaners too, there all scams also, to grab your money. Good thing engineers figured out knock sensors for you guys ,so u can run regular in your engines , when they tell you to use premium oh yeah just a scam to get your money. And I never said octane was a factor in the intake getting varnish build up i was saying regular fuel has less cleaners in it than premium fuel. Wow you like reading thing in. Enjoy running your REGULAR Grade gasoline.

Pemium gas burns slower than regular gas. Since most cars these days bmw lexus accura are high compression engines engineered to run on high test gas ,thus being able to advance the timing, giving more power. By ignition happening with the fuel under higher pressure= more hp more effient burn. Premium fuel also has morer additives and detergents in it (you get what u pay for) to help keep the fuel systems and intake sysyems cleaner. When i was chatting to my BMW mechanic he said he had a 3 sereis in that they had to remove the throttle body and clean it to get the car to run properly, the throttle body was coverd in the varnish you get from running regular fuel

Hi Im new to the forum here . I have just purchased a 2003 LS430 ultra premium with 89,000 km. This was a off a lease vechicle and the dealer did not have any of the manuals. Mostly im interested in the regualer maintainance manual for scheduled services so i can do them myself. If anyone could scan and post one here i would appreciate it. Im also trying to get one from the dealer here, Thanks
