  1. The 94s actually didn't come with the LS400 badge. I've seen countless gen1 LS's, including my own, and the few I've seen with the LS badge had obviously added the newer style badge, because the sizing of the type is slightly different from that of the Lexus badge on the early LS's.
  2. In my car, the rubber of the bushing is completely worn away and when the wheel with the worn bushing hits a bumps, it makes a loud metal against metal clanging noise.
  3. JPI, please contact me at wucantstop@aol.com.
  4. I'm looking for a pair of the trailing arm bushings for my 94 LS. I have talked to ALLTOYOLEX (the place that has been recommended) for the past couple weeks, but they haven't had the bushings in stock for longer than that, and have been more or less unhelpful when I call them about it. I'm wondering if any of you know of another place I can call that sells the bushings separate from the whole arm?
  5. Mark, Sorry I don't have help for you, but I do have a couple questions. The rear passenger door lock in my 94 has stopped working. I don't know how to tell whether it's the actuator that's gone. When I press the unlock or lock button on my driver's controls, the lock mechanism attempts to move, but seems to not have enough power to push the lock all the way into position. I assume this would be the actuator. My question is was it easy for you to replace and would it be possible for you to let me know where you got the part and how you installed it? Thanks.
  6. Why don't you go get your grill chromed? I live in MA and have found a couple metal plating shops that work with chrome and said they would be willing to dip my grill for me along with any other parts i want chromed. They can do any metal as well as ABS plastic, and quoted me somewhere around 250 for it. I've heard that chrome plating is illegal in some states (like NY), but if you're willing to drive, a plating shop probably isn't too far. This might not be the clean billet look you want, but the sparkly factory grill chromed would catch a LOT of sunlight.
  7. Hey fatman, Thanks for the help. I took out the door switches easily with your directions and upon getting off the buttons, I found that it looks like the contact in question (the rear passenger up switch) is broken/missing. Is there any chance I could buy that extra switch off you? I tried to PM you, but for some reason I can't. Please get back to me. My e-mail is wucantstop@aol.com. Thanks.
  8. Also, I just noticed the power in my front cigarette lighter seems to be really weak (it takes an extra long time to get hot and won't power my cell-phone charger) while the one in the back has stopped working completely. Could the problems be related and could the traction control problem possibly have something to do with a fuse? Probably not since the button won't even click down, but I'm hopeful. Where is the Lex's fuse box located? Also, how do I disconnect the traction control if it seems like repairs would be a hassle?
  9. And can I somehow bypass the wire sensors to turn the dash light off?
  10. My rear passenger window is not working properly from the driver's door controls. From the front seat, I can put it down, but when I try to put it up, it doesn't work. From the controls in the back, on the same door as the semifunctional window, it works both up and down. I was wondering if you guys know anything about this problem. I'm thinking it might be a dusty/grimy contact in my driver's side window switch, but I haven't taken off any of the door panels in my Lex yet and want to know if it's an easy endeavor and if getting into the switch with some wd-40 or something would be easy and help. Thanks.
  11. So was the dealer for real when they said that the sensors need to be replaced each time the pads wear out?
  12. I had this same problem. My brake pads wore out and when I had them replaced, the light stayed on. I called the dealer to ask about it and they told me that once the pads wear out, the sensor wire breaks and must be replaced (at $90 each x 4). If this is not true, or there is any way to get the light off, please let me know. Also, does anyone know where I can find a picture or diagram of the actual sensor and/or where it's located?
  13. I've got a '94 LS and just recently, when I tried pressing the TRAC OFF button, I noticed it wouldn't work. The button no longer clicks into place like it used to and the dash light doesn't come on. It seems like the traction control is working fine, but I'd like to be able to turn it off, especially when it gets to be winter and snowy. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Let me know please. thanks.
