  1. i took my rx300 to cherry hill lexus in NJ for an oil change, and waited one and half hour, cost me $129. i nerver went back again as i do my own oil change now with Mobile 1 oil Sounds like you had filters etc done as well. Check your invoice. I've had one such oil change, and other lesser cost oil changes (oil change only) with Cherry Hill.
  2. Actually, used Cherry Hill for warranty work several times before using them for paid work and NEVER caught wind of any attitude. Conversely, BOUGHT (not leased) at Wilmington, used Wilmington for all my paid work and regularly caught an attitude from same party (complained more than once to GM and SM re this man). Didnt even buy at Cherry Hill (in fact, they LITERALLY told me that they couldnt beat the Wilmington price when I was shopping the car with the options I wanted), yet they have bent over backwards to be accomodating. P.S. I only switched to Cherry Hill for service as the offending party at Wilmington pushed me one too many times. I then called the SM and told him that I scheduled my 30K service with Cherry Hill as their guy was rude to me on the phone when I called to schedule it with them (as recanted in my original post) .
  3. Sounds about right in NJ (just under $650).
  4. Crazy routing seems to be par for the course with the nav (took me all through the bad lands in Philly to get me to Hatboro, PA (which was not the most direct route). I guess I could have opted for an alternate route, but have no idea if the system can give a line itemed detail of each alternate route (street by street, like mapquest or randmcnally directions) as to better gauge the most effective route. Did notice some of the issues you mentioned when last in Manhattan and LI (being June 2005). SW: Would this "update" be to correct quirks only or would it also bring the nav up-to-date (example, my development is now approaching 5 years old, yet it is not on my nav map at all.)
  5. Wondering if they do replace a defective unit, will it be with the same thing or a redesigned/corrective radiator?
  6. Ok, so who has had leaking, and who knew nothing about it? Just got my complimentary extended warranty for 2004/2005 RX330 radiators due to leaking. 7 years/90k miles. Anyone have any more info/have a problem with their radiator? Oh, as for the dash creaking...it appears to be fixed (yahoo!)
  7. BOWTIE: No, I did NOT bring that up to them, just you fellow posters. As for wondering about it...cant help but consider it (cant attribute it to PMS, because its the men there that are so rude). Anyway, if you re-read the post you will see that I didn't say that WAS the reason, I specifically said I "would hate to think" it was. FYI: As for your issuance of credibility... I need not have your stamp/sanction/validation on this or any other topic. Your snap judgment speaks volumes. P.S. I wish to extend a sincere thank you to my fellow poster (and Forum Manager), SW03ES for coming to my defense. Class act. (some could stand to take notes) ;)
  8. How much for install of the new version nav DVD? Mine current DVD doesnt have half of the developments down my neck of the woods (some of which are 3-5 years old now).
  9. You are correct. Already had it "fixed" for free via the insurance company. If it later spiders/etc, they will replace the windsheild for my $100 deductible.
  10. Still have my o/e windshield. Do have a chip however, which may require a replacement sometime down the line. Thanks for the heads up!
  11. Well, the RX330 is back from the dash creak repair (some have experienced a rattle, mine was a creaking) and seems to be ok (its only 30 degrees here, and no creak all the way home from a cold start.) Will let you know how it goes. Can't even tell that the dash was removed at all (they did a very good job), but for a SMALL slit in the driver's side door trim molding, which will be replaced at my next oil change in 3 weeks (again, at no charge). No charge for the loaner car (which I had for 12 days), the labor or the parts.
  12. Have them check the airflow meter.
  13. I did see a Japanese Radio controlled RX330 once. Hard to find.
  14. AWD as well...although my noise is definitely not a rattle, but a creak (akin to a bad wood floor board that someone keeps walking across.) My car is Canadian and didnt begin to evidence the noise until apx 30K miles. As for fun to drive...well, I dont go that far. Nice ride, and hopefully quiet again once this repair is done. The RX is in need of more hp to gain a "fun to drive" award of excellence from this poster...I prefer the Infiniti FX in this arena, but it lacks the refinement of the RX.
  15. Not to post from another cite, but found info on this topic at clublexus.com Here's the link for anyone else going through this issue (11+ hours labor involved, and a week without your vehicle to "fix", hopefully...so make sure you get your car into the dealer BEFORE your warranty runs out!) http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109521
  16. Has anyone here heard rumor of lexus knowing of dash molding/gasket issues causing creaking that they are replacing but are not escalating to the level of recalling? Dealer has had my RX for 3 days running citing that they are replacing the gaskets (say they have the dash out and this is a known issue with the RX330). Any info is appreciated as I feel as if they are holding back information/let me know as little as possible when I pressed them on what the reason for the creaking was. Thanks
  17. Cherry Hill Lexus just wrote me back in less than 5 mins from my req (took Wilmington 24 hours) to offer me loaner or valet service. THEY know how to treat their customers!
  18. Anyone here experienced rude or turse Lexus service dept reps? I am SICK of the Wilmington, DE Lexus reps. Kurt and borderline rude, one was so downright disrespectful once that I had to call the dealership's owner. Seems, however, that nothing is being done to correct this issue. Thing is, I dont know why these guys are being such arses. Its not like I've gone in there talking down or being obnoxious to anyone...fact is, I've never taken the car in (hubby takes it in, or a rep picks it up at our home.) Would hate to think its a racial issue. Ever since the continued attitudes or lack of customer service, I have been taking my car to another dealership, where at least they are nice and otherwise respectful, but thought I'd give the dealership I bought my car from one more shot at winning my servicing. Big mistake, three strikes your out with me! Tonight, they screwed themselves out of my currently needed warranty visit, let alone, their previous behavior losing them a $800 maintenance visit last month. I used their website service request tool, wherein I indicated that I would like a pick-up and a loaner, whereafter, in true to manager hit and run fashion (just as he is leaving so I couldnt call him back today/would have to wait until tomorrow) The manager wrote me "I am sorry but this is not something that we will pick your car up for. If you have any further concerns or need to discuss this with me please let me know." Duh, of course I would want to discuss it, but since you typed it at 5pm and leave at 5pm, I guess it will have to wait. Was I told to go screw or what? Is it me, or could this man have actually typed a few more sentences to explain why they couldnt offer pick up in this instance and, God forbid, perhaps give me some alternatives when dropping bad news? No effort whatsoever to win back my business.
  19. I have not checked on the rx 330 to see if there is a cost. ← Cost me nothing on my 2004 RX330 with my dealership.
  20. What does the color of thief have to do with anything?
  21. Actually, the idiot will sue you and probably win.
  22. Has anyone experienced creeking in the front passenger cabin area (seemingly around the air vent/windshield-pillar speaker area?) It is about driving me crazy and is most eggregious in the am/cold am. Has anybody dealt with this? How long is this sort of problem warrantied for with Lexus? Car sounds like a 1980's Corvette for all the dash/cabin creaking lately. Ideas appreciated. Read the basic warranty and noises, that are attributable to normal wear/aging are not covered. But since my car is not even two years old, I'd argue that this overt noise is NOT normal wear for a car under 36K miles.
  23. Good gauge, but need manufacturers specs (want to keep with proper maintenance and all.)
  24. Car is in for its 30K servicing. I inadvertantly left my manual in the glove box and need the specs on recommended minimum break pad thickness. Can someone look it up for me and advise? Picking up today, and dont want the rep milking me for repairs I may not need. Seem to remember 1cm being mentioned, but figured someone here would be kind enough to look it up in their manual. Heard one of the pushy reps in the cubby next to me/my rep pushing a break job on another client, and I want to be informed. P.S. Had my breaks checked at beginning of summer and was advised I had between 70-75% meat left on them. Thanks!
